Description

They were animals, like a giraffe, cat, lion, etc with names like "Al E. Cat" that had legs that were disproportionately long (lanky) for their size and had sand in the feet to make them stand on their own.

I received a lanky doodles for my 3rd birthday in 1990 and I have so many memories and pictures of my lanky doodle which was orange with green hair. I'm not really sure what kind of animal it was supposed to be, I think a giraffe, if anyone knows it would be very helpful.

I too have been searching for these guys! All of mine vanished from my mom's house and I still think of them all the time (sad, I know)! And yes, me too, I will pay whatever for them: Arffer Dogfry, Lion Van Roar, my favorite- the tiger (whose name I just can't remember!)...

The tiger is Hyper Stryper, but you can't have him! I've been trying to find more of them for years. I also have Rex Van Roar the lion, Mamie Moo the cow, Arfer Dogfrey, Bunny Babbit, Froggy Jumpstart, and the dinosaur. What's his name?

I pulled out my old stuffed animals for my 6 year old, and we found my purple lankey, Im not sure what it is though maybe a weird dog, but i remember when i got him at the toy store in orange county next to the movie theater with the big bird cage outside that i don't ever remember actually seeing birds in. we are looking for more now my daughter wants a new one.

I have the best memories of my Bunnie Babbit! My sister and I would make "music videos" and use my dad's old camcordera and have Bunnie Babbit dancing and singing! I got him for my 8th birthday and remember wanting froggie jumpstart but I never found him the next year. I'd buy the frog or cat from some one in a heartbeat!

I had the tiger... I named it Lanky.... hahahaha. Anyway I am 27 years old and I still take him practically everywhere. Vegas, scotland, that thing has seen more places then most other people I know! My brother had the purple dog. I am so glad that I found other people that know about these things. I have never met anyone that ever knows what I am talking about!! Love them! I am going to be buried with my Lanky!!

I had to lanky Doodles zebra who I named Zooey . He my transitional item for when my mom left my dad when I was only six years old . I tied a string around his neck and made him walk beside me and took him everywhere with me until I was 12 years old. I still have him today he sits on my bookshelf I would really love to collect all of them because they were such fascinating imaginative toys that stood on their own.they don't make them quite like they used to.
