Legos were everywhere in my house. We had more storage bins full of pieces than Christmas decorations. There were tons of kits, even special "girls" kits that were more horse based and pink and white.

I loved LEGOS!

I wish they made legos like they used to! My friends and I would spend hours making things. I remember my used to build the ships from Star Wars before there were custom sets.

Sorry, that was supposed to be "...my brother used to build the ships from Star Wars..."

What more can you say? You could spend all day playing lego. We still have all ours, with the roads and I had the yellow castle. Cool!

MY Grandmother bought one of the first started sets sold in the US for me and my siblings back in the late 50's early 60's. Back then, a starter set was HUGE!!!!! We were in HS and JR HI when our family moved across the country and my mom decided (over our protests) that we were 'too old' to keep them and gave them away!!! I have kept all the legos, duplos and fabuland that we got for our own kids and am hoping to find them all soon as I am sorting through literally 100's of boxes I'm taking out of storage. IMHO, no one is EVER TOO OLD to play with legos!!!

I was just all "I saw every toy I had, I'm gonna log out and get something to eat," but then I'm all "Legos!" How the hell could I forget Legos!

I feel really sorry for kids today who pretty much only have the option of buying kits where you follow the directions to make a specific model. the kits use completely different legos as well. I think you can special order lego sets w/o directions but they are really expensive and not easy to find.

Legos are STILL awesome.

We live in Germany and LEGOS are everywhere here! We took my son to Legoland DE to celebrate his fifth birthday, and it was nothing short of amazing to see all the cities built entirely from Legos. If you ever have a chance to go to a Legoland, it's well worth it. Cheers from Heidelberg!

It always kills me how many people insist on calling them "Legos", when "lego" is proper plural. i.e "I built the car from lego".

Legos - the single greatest toy ever created. They're more expensive than Tyco (remember those?) but well worth the extra price. My sister and I created so many towns out these and one of my favorites was Main Street. I didn't have any Fabuland (too bad) or Duplo (I was too old for those by the time I started getting Legos) but I could never get enough Legos and I could never create enough! I think Legos were better about 25-30 years ago than they are now but they're still not bad today.

I am a Lego fan and I am 27 years old and still play with Lego and had people compliment me that I'm too old for that and I don't actually care what they think as I believe Lego is a best part of child and adult's toy is because I am a deaf individual who have a headstrong of vision and seeing the patterns of things changing with body expression which is so much related with signing language that I am using with.. Feel free to ask for further question. Anyways about Lego's I have about 80kg of Lego's which the most are back in the late 70's of a space set and mostly are in the late 80's to early 90's. I had been playing Lego as a baby since I started with dulpo and my parent was amazed since I was in my dulpo time at 18 months old that I HATED when my dulpo was put in assorted colour all together, I had to tear them off and put all the same colour together, I happened to believe I was treating my dulpo to be color matchable is because we dont live in a house with all scribbling and rainbow colour house do we? LOL. Since I stopped playing with Dulpo between 4 to 5 years old, I was given a white bucket of building brick which is not with Lego's company for xmas at five years old in 1986 as a trail that they wanted to see me if I am still playing with it until I was given my first proper lego set and end up showered with lego's over the years. My first lego set was a classic 1985 airport set and I still have them in a excellent condition that came along with a box with no tears or worn out. :)

I think lego will be with us forever. My 10 yr old grandson loves everything leg, and last year we bought my 2 yr old neice some duplo and there isnt a day goes by without her building something. She was really proud of herself the first time she managed to build some stairs :) Lego is great for the imagination, and a great learning toy. Better than sitting them infront of a mindless vidoe game any day of the week.

I had Legos for Space, Castles and especially Towns! I even had a special manual that gave you unique ideas and even came with stickers which I used! The roads were cool too! And so were the little people, trees, signs and stickers. I think Legos should go back to the way they were in the early 80's.

Lego is my Life, my Love, my Past. Who art thou without Lego? Those timeless bricks, the two-fingered hands, The mediaeval castle and the fire station, And the very useful hinged bits Shall I compare thee to a rainy day? Thou art more lovely and more didactic. Lego...LEGO! Wherefore art thou, oh Lego?... (Anonymous - Written on the back of a $1.99 box of six lego spacemen, c.1985)

I played with legos for a good long time and still keep them in a bin. It was fun to look through the pamphlets that showed all the sets together. I always wanted a train, but was excited enough to get a set with a glow in the dark ghost. Losing someone's hat/helmet/hair or stepping on a sharp piece was the worst. I noticed that some of the new town sets are the same as the old ones I used to have except the people have different hairstyles or faces or some other minor thing.

We had Lego by the bucketload when I was a kid! My brother and I, who were always fighting, always got along swimmingly when we were playing with the Lego blocks. We entered a Lego contest at the local K-Mart one time. I built a snazzy lookin' house (upstairs, downstairs, furniture and utensils - all made with Lego) and my brother built the red lion from Voltron. I got second place, he got third! I won $50 worth of Lego and he won $35. Of course the sets never stayed seperate from the other blocks. We dumped 'em all into the same bin. I was usually pretty good about making sure none were left laying around anywhere. However, when my brother played with them my dad usually found at least one in the middle of the night with his bare foot.

I really love Lego, I think I have an addiction though I buy and buy and buy I just can't seem to get enough. They are always coming out with new ones so you have to get the latest but man does it add up fast $5,000 last month and three the month before but man is this stuff cool. I've got to have about 420 kits since I was about 5yrs old and I have kept it all I've got rooms full and I just like to look at it and mess with the boxes and the blocks it really is fun stuff. I just hope I get to keep it in the divorce.

Nothing could keep my brother and I getting along as well as playing with legos! We had bottomles tubs of them and we would turn like his whole entire room into a lego city. (The poor kid slept in his closet a lot!) That bedroom floor wasn't even traversable barefoot! (I'm sure we all know what it is to step on a lego block barefooted!!!) Probably the best toy ever!

I still have some of my lego sets that I had as a child. The first set I got was a very small set called Maidens Cart, I was about 5 when I got it. I also have the Motocross set, Med-Star Rescue Plane, Basic sets and heaps of others. I also have a lot of Paradisa Lego sets from the early 90's.

We have 2 sons, now 35 and 32. They played with their legos back in the 80's. One has 2 little boys and his oldest(5) is so happy to come to our house and play forever on the kitchen table with his Daddy and Uncle's legos. Years back they kept the assembled buildings etc together now they are all apart so he can just imagine what he wants to make a work hard at it. The little one is curious at 19 months but the pieces are too small yet and our other Son is expecting his first baby boy in Feb so it will be a while before he can get his little hands in to the lego fun! What a great investment and we are so happy we saved them because now the lego's have a different style and look so we have heard.

I used to play with Legos most of the time when I was a little kid. But I gave them away to Austin. Because I'm enjoying my Lego lifestyle with Lego Star Wars: The Clone Wars on my PS3.

There are different variations of LEGO (Friends, SpongeBob SquarePants, Minecraft, The Simpsons, Disney Princess, The LEGO Movie, Batman, Disney Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Disney The Lone Ranger, Harry Potter, Disney Pirates of the Caribbean, Legends of Chima, Ninjago, etc). There are also LEGO theatrical movies (The LEGO Movie, The LEGO Batman Movie, The Ninjago Movie) and LEGO DVD releases (Friends, Bionicle, etc) as much as LEGO video games (especially LEGO Rock Band).
