Description
She had the same face as the rest of the "Little Miss" dolls (such as Little Miss Make-up and Little Miss Dress Up), but her entire torso and legs were a turquoise mermaid's tail. The tail was covered in jewels and brightly colored starfish, which changed colors in warm water. When you squeezed her tummy she sang a very sweet little song (it had no words, though).

My little sister had this as a child. I just got it for her on Ebay as a birthday gift but my daughter fell in love with the doll so she's 'babysitting' her for my sis. We never knew she sang though! Our mother probably took out the batteries! ;)

I had this! I always gave my dolls haircuts though, so if she's still around somewhere, she has a much shorter 'do.

WOW! I just KNOW I had this. But I can't remember what happened to it. I was obsessed with mermaids as a child (thank you, Ariel) so my mom bought me like every mermaid toy possible.

This brings back memories...my cousin had it, I was babysitting and she just kept making it sing...over and over and over until I wanted to rip its head off! Cute, though.

Oh, wow, I remember this. I think both my little sisters had one of her. I'm sure at least that my baby sister had her.

I totally still have one of these kicking around somewhere. The jewels are a little loose, but other than that, I kept her in pretty good shape. My cat, for whatever reason, is obsessed with it... she licked that thing over and over and over again, loved to hear it sing too. Weirdest thing ever.

My cousin and I both had the African American Little Miss Singing Mermaid Dolls. We took ours to the pool one summer and the chlorine must have done a number on her hair because it was NAPPY as sheeps wool afterwards. I recently found her in my storage trunk and her hair was still jacked up. I haven't put the batteries in her to see if she works, but I do remember it still working when I put her away when I was in about the fourth grade. My cousin found hers in her mom's attic and and not only was her hair still nappy, but the field mice had a picnic making a nest in her hair! YUCK!!
Olivia - April 06, 2009 - Report this comment
I had her, but an older cousin took her and smashed her to pieces with a hammer. I would pay money to find another one that sang. Man.

Oh..it took em forever to find something that confirmed my memory of this doll. It was my FAVORITE along with the jewel velcro one and very slightly recall the neon green make up one though I didn't own it.

My sister and I both received one of these from Santa Claus when I was about 8. I loved her! I remember playing with her in the tub. Her stars and shells on her body change colors. Loved her little song, too! Not too sure what happened to her, but I would love to find one for my baby girl!

I just found my daughters Lil Miss Mermaids in the attic and for some reason their faces and arms have turned from Caucasian to African American with that bright blond hair. They still sing!

About a year ago i went on EBay and found the same doll..(it took about a week)..so if your looking go on Ebay and type in "Little Miss Singing Mermaid" or "Lil Miss Singing Mermaid" or just "Lil Miss"
