I finally got a marshmellow baby! I got it on ebay for 40 dollars! I'm so happy! I'll send a pic of her when it comes it. Oh! BTW, it was Playskool that made them. The description on ebay said "playskool grandma's marshmellow babies".

My birthday is tomorrow, I will be 26. My dad just brought a few boxes of toys from my old room 13 years ago, and in it along with cabbage patch kids, barbies as well as many other memories was my Purple Marshmallow baby! I cant wait until my 2 yr old daughter is responsible enough to take care of her.

I still have mine! Mine is the teal one with peach hair. My grandmother gave it to me when I was 3 years old. She was ill and made my mother go through every single store in the area that sold toys to find it. I have now given it to my 4 and 2 year old daughters to enjoy. I am guessing they came out around 1988, because that is when I turned 3 years old.

I still have mine, but she's in terrible shape. Green skin, apricot hair, romper outfit of apricot overalls sewn with an apricot shirt. I would love to find one that actually looks good and not beat up. Can't find the darn things anywhere! Were they that unpopular/rare? I'd love to fix mine up, but there are holes in the skin, lace is falling apart on outfit, hair's pulled out too long, back seam's split, etc. I slept with the doll for years, so that's why she's in bad shape. Oh, and I think I got mine for my 4th birthday (1987).

The reason that they're so rare is that they weren't incredibly widely dispersed, nobody wantss to part with theirs (too many childhood memories) and the fact that Marshmallow Babies were made and marketed for very young children and thus more liable to sustain damage at the hands of said children...

my great-niece and nephew (age 5) came to visit for easter. In the playroom, they climbed up on a counter and pulled down a few dolls from a top shelf and played with them. It was like the preschool classroom scene from toy story. Marshmallow baby survived with a few hairs out of place, a pamala doll was half bald with hair all over the floor, poor mother goose had wires all pulled out. It was a tough day for my daughter's 80 toys.
