Description
Around 1985 - 86, McDonald's offered these cheap (but big) plastic boat sets with their Happy Meals. The boats came in two parts - a top and a bottom, and the set included a sheet of stickers, which you could use to decorate the boat (for detailed graphics such as windows, lifesaver rings, portholes, etc.). The two parts of the boat snapped together (kind of like putting a lid on a container) and they really did float! Of course, the stickers disintegrated after being in the water, but my sister and I still had a few fun bath sessions with our McDonald's boats and thought this was a great Happy Meal deal!

I remember there were four differnt kinds of McD toy boats. My brother and I had all four of them. Too bad McD's don't have toys like this anymore with a happy meal.

I had no idea you had these in the United States! I live in Germany during the 80's and we had FLYING SAUCERS at McDonalds! They were just like this though. Plastic top and bottom that popped together and your happy meal came inside. Stickers for the outside. But the saucers you could toss like frisbees afterwards! I remember tossing them off our balcony on the second floor of our house!

Ship-Shape Happy Meals, they were called. And don't ask me how I remember that, because I have no idea! XD

I remember these, but just barely. I do remember the flying saucer one.
