Description
Remember those little mermaid dolls that came with a lily pad sponge and a comb for their hair. I think it was momma, baby, animal, comb and sponge in the set. They came in all different colors.

I so TOTALLY remember these mermaid dolls. And the description is correct; they came with the baby...animal...comb...sponge. Wish I could recall the exact name so I could look up pics or something. I used to play with these in the bathtub ALL the time! What fun. And they had different sets...certain sets came with certain items!! FUN......

They're Sea Wees Tropigals and Icygals.

I still have some of my Sea Wees. Tropigals & Icygals were later products of Sea Wees. At first they just came with a lily pad & comb. Then they came with a baby. Then a pet. I was obsessed.

I wanted Sea Wees so bad but didn't have one 'til I found it at a garage sale as a teen. I bought it anyway. I still have the little baby Sea Wee that came with the bigger doll. She doesn't have real hair, but it's blue and in pig tails. Her body is pink.

HOLY CRAP! I had one with white hair, a streak of blue, a blue fin, and what looked like a fur shawl? I must have lost the baby and the animal, I just remember the hair! I'm sorry but Bratz can't compete with this stuff!

Ah! another toy I wanted so badly but was never allowed to have. They sell on ebay too....I can't believe how much they sell for but they are there nonetheless. Guess I'll never have one...EVER!!

I used to have a white one with blue hair. I also had one with red hair, she came with a sea horse. I loved this toy so much. Wish I could go back...

I remember these being sold in drug stores when I was growning up and my mom buying them whenever I was sick. Oh, I miss those days.

I am having such an emotional response to these little Sea Wees. My parents put one in my stocking every year and it was something that I looked forward to. This is one of my Top 5 all time favorites! Thank you for posting this :D

I was given a mermaid doll when I was five by my mom when I was in the hospital. She was blonde and quite big and she has this seashell and pearl jewelry that you could wear. I can't remember what she was called. Does anyone know?

I loved these! My great aunt bought my first one and I loved them so much that other family members bought me several other colors. I had forgotten about them until my daughters outgrew they baby bath toys and were ready for big girl toys and I haven't been able to find any that I liked as well as my mermaids. Ah, the good old days! :)

I still have two of these. My girls played with them when they were little. They still have them stuffed away somewhere in the pit of the toy box.

I had the same one in the pic and only that one. She was ok, but I remember being miffed b/c I couldn't make the doll's hair look like the pic. Notice the actual doll in the package has flat Cloepatra hair and the demo on the pack has 80's locks.

They were my favorite bath toy. I remember that the sponges began to smell weird after a while(mildew/mold or whatever)even though my mom kept them clean and dry when I was done with my bath.

OMG! I just found one of these at my mom's and gave it to my little one's to play with in the tub. These were the BEST TOYS! Scary how the mind works when a toy from 40 years ago triggers a response. Love it Thank you for getting their name out there.
