Description
This was a "Mommy" doll with blonde hair and a white maternity dress with multi-colored hearts on it. You could lift up part of the dress and see Mommy's tummy (which was part of her dress). Underneath, was a velcro pouch that held Mommy's baby. When she had her baby, you took off her maternity dress and she was slim again wearing a pink skirt and a top that matched her maternity dress.

I know this doll! But, it came out in `92 and was make by TYCO, so not exactly 80's. I had her, and she also had a "Wedding ring" which was just a rhinestone on her finger. The baby also had its own bottle and etc.

No! We were all born the same way...every kid asks about it eventually, this is a great way to teach your kids...my cousin had this doll and we always fought over it.

I remember my mom and my grandmother being appalled by this doll, and I couldn't have one.

I loved Mommy! I used to play with her and my Babysitter's club Stacy doll since they were about the same size. My neighbor friend had the Dawn and Kristie dolls from Babysitter's club and we would have sleepovers with them. I miss those days...

When i was little, i asked our town Santa for one (who was one of my mums best friends)... He asked me what i wanted and i said "My mommy's having a baby"!!! He half smiled and looked over at my mum that had my 8 month sister in her arms she shocked her head no, with a worried look lol!! And he said "Do u want a new brother or sister"!!! I giggled and said "No silly, the doll". I Don't remember This doing it, But I Do Remember the doll!!!

I have this doll too! I kept it for when I have a daughter. I only have the doll, maternity dress, baby with tshirt and blanket and the ultrasound. Also only has one shoe, but I loved/love it! I remember my mum telling me not to play with it when certain friends came around though as it was controversial!

Does anyone know if it's worth anything? I have this doll with the box and accessories. The box is not in the best shape. And I need to wash the clothes, but it's not in bad shape. I have everything that came with it.

No this doll was from the 80's not 1992 like Emily stated the doll she is referring to is a totally different one. I have one my mom left me when she passed I was wondering how much it is worth also, this doll was only on the market for about 2 months until it was pulled off shelves.

Actually it is from 1992. I had this doll and would have been to young in the 80s to remember it. It is the exact same one as is shown in the photo above. I love it! I asked my mom for it before christmas and she got it for me! I didnt know (and neither did she) that it was so controversial and I am pretty proud of her for getting it for me when it was apparently such a big deal.

Great. A toy that glorifies and gives the wrong impression how pregnancy really is. I've never been pregnant myself, but most of my friends had kids. I would never buy a toy like this for a little girl. Girls should be taught that overpopulation is a serous problem, and they do not have to have kids.
