Oh I'll never forget my munchichi. I tell people now that one of my favorite toys was the munchichi and I get the same reaction every time, "A WHAT!?" I'm so glad it made this list.

I so remember the monchichi's, i mention them all the time and none of my friends remember them. my 5 month old looks like a monchichi. and she is sooooo cute.

i wanted one very badly. my parents got me one for christmas, so they thought. it was gray but not a monkey, it was a cat. the ears were flat against the head. it really looked like a monkey in the package. i dont remember who made it or what it was called but i loved it just the same. once, i left it in west virginia at my grandparents house. omg! i cried the entire trip home. i had to wait several months until we got back down there. i still have her.

I loved my munchichi more than words can say. She got a whole in her arm and I fragged her around with me all over gods green earth with a limp arem and no hand. My dad threw her away one day when i went to school. I am still mad and i am almost 30!

Oh I loved these toys as a kid, I just never knew they were called munchichis. I used to play with them. I never watched the cartoon. I never owned one of these though. I had monkey toys growing up. This was my favorite. I'll have to find one an order it.

I was in FAO Schwarz the other day and from a distance I saw a cute little monkey and I literally ran across the store yelling "MONCHICHI". You can totally get NEW monchichi's today! I was in Disney World in Epcot Center in the gift shop at the Japan Pavilion and they had a whole display of them. Of course I bought one! I think they are still popular in Japan, kind of like Hello Kitty.

I'm a 30 year old black man with a munchichi!!! I took him to college with me when i played football and my teammates reagged me all the time. I still have him.

I remember them too. I sing the song in my head from time to time and once in a while I sing out loud. My kids think I am crazy but I don't care. I loved them as a kid and had one with a banana in its hand that you could put in its mouth. I also use to watch the cartoon, but it has been a long time so I don't remember a whole lot about it.

I had a tape of the Monchichis which was very annoying! I also had a knock-off version whose beans would seep into the head so the body was flat and limp while the head rattled from being full of beans!

I always say I love you Monchichi to my mom and she rolls her eyes at me as though I'm calling her an ugly monkey, when in reality she was the one who puchased the entire collection of the Monchhichhi for me and absolutely love them! I remember the monchichis, too :)) I never had one, but I had something that looked a lot like one. I think it was a Fruity(sp?) It was small and furry with the plastic face and hands like the monchichi, but they came in different colors(pink, purple, etc.) It also had a little plastic stem in it's head with a leaf. I've been trying like mad to find another one. Any one else have one?

Yeah, the evil monchichis were the Grumplins. Or as the song went: The Grumplins are very mean to the monchichis.Every day they tease try to catch and squeeze. So back up to the trees go the Monchichis. Monchichi means happiness! I don't know why I remember this. I had exactly one monchichi and never cared for it. I did watch the cartoon though it was never a favorite. Why my mind retained parts of the theme for a cartoon that meant little to me I'll never know.

Yes I love the Monchichis. I went to Japan 2 years ago and bought 1 wearing a kimono. I also bought a couple of monchichi keychains. Im going to Japan again in August and I'll definitely bring back more monchichis!!!!

Oh my:) Nobody is going to believe me, but they were sold in the Soviet Union back then. Don't know whether the idea was stolen (Cold War, espionage and so on;)) and they were made somewhere there, or they came from Germany. As I was 4 I just didn't care;) But I can still remember mine - she was almost black and her name was Bodia - don't ask what it was supposed to mean, I just loved the sound:) Her face probably differed slightly.

Last christmas I was in the grocery store in San Diego and low and behold there they were.... I started singing the song with my sister and ended up buying them for my daughter and niece so that they could love them as much as I did when I was a kid and had them. I still hold it against my mom for getting rid of them. Such great memories.

I finally bought my first real Monchhichi today. I was in the store in Vancouver, and there he was, staring at me. I've waited for over 30 years for this little guy to show up. I had a fake one that my mom bought for me in Hungary back in the 80's, but despite the fact that I loved him dearly, I've always had this awareness that he was fake. I'm sooooo happy. I only had the Monchichi Colorforms set, but I loved it and took it everywhere! Like a lot of other people though, over time I forgot the details and 'everyone' else forgot about them and I thought I'd just made it up, like they were my imaginary friends or something...GO MONCHICHI!!

My mom bought my first monchhichi when i was 6yrs old. I'm now 31 and i still have him "eric". Yes he's my pride and joy. Although he's very grungy looking and falling apart i still treasure him.
