Description
Cabbage Patch sized, but had Barbie-like hair that you could brush instead of dumb yarn and soft skin (not fuzzy really, but it was a fabric, not cloth like Cabbage Patches). They also had jewel-like eyes and you could move their arms and legs. They came with heart-shaped gold lockets for you to wear, and you could also get a picture of your child to fit in the locket

This is my very favorite toy in the whole world and i missed them so much, it brings so very happy and memorable memories about my childhood, i would like the manufacturer to bring them back again for my daughter as an excuse to me to buy them again.

I remember Christmas of 1986, I begged my parents for a My Child. I specified that she had to have a yellow dress on, and dark brown hair and brown eyes, to look just like me. Through some miracle, they found that EXACT doll, and my Christmas was made! I loved her very much...until one fateful day when my mom threw a bag of toys out that we had, thinking it was trash. I lost my My Child, my Rainbow Brite, my original Cabbage Patch doll, and mine and my brother's Popples. all our 80's toys were gone.

I still have one, she's naked now but in pretty good shape. Short dark brown hair and blues eyes. I loved this doll so much. This site is reminding me how much of a dork I am :)

I was also given one for Christmas in 86. I named her Abby. She is a brunette US topknot and I still have her. About 2 years ago I 'rediscovered' her in the cupboard and my passion for collecting begun. I now have over 70 dolls and have restored all of them. I ADORE these dolls and they are so durable and easy to restore. So much cuter than Cabbage Patch Dolls.

I still have My child...it is a red haired boy. It still has the clothes...beige shorts with a sweater. It does not have shoes anymore, don't know what happened to them. I got it from Christmas probably in 86 too, just like Paula above. I guess that was the last one my parents found. I actuallu did not care about it even with TV commercials, but when I got it that x-mas, it was my most cherished toy!!!

I still have my My Child doll. My mother gave it to me for christmas one year when they ran out of Cabbage Patch Kids. I couldn't wait to open it either. I named her Sarah and she has blonde hair and brown eyes. I still love her even 20 years afterwards.

My mom got me one for my 6th birthday, that had dark brown curly hair and blue eyes, just like me!! I remember there was this special offer where you could send away for a My Child locket, which came with a sheet of heart-shaped photos of all the different My Child dolls, and you were supposed to put in the photo of the doll that looked most like yours. It was awesome!

Holy crap I had one of these and I'd totally forgotten about it! I loved her to death back in the day...she had blondish hair and a cute little pink dress. I remember her skin started to get dirty after a while from all of the love, especially her nose.

I had a My Child lunch box when I was little, but couldn't rememeber what they were called. I've been searching 80's websites and this is the first time I ever found it.
