I absolutely loved the My Little Ponys like I'm sure every little girl did. My sister and I played with our fuzzy ones so much that the fur came off in spots.
Denise - May 27, 2007 - Report this comment
I had about 100 my little ponies-- no joke! They were my favorite. I remember how I would collect the "horseshoe points" that came on the packages and then apply them to mail ordered my little ponies. I had the months of the year ponies, and a cool my little pony boardgame (made of paper). I had the flutter ponies with the plastic wings that you could move, I had the baby ponies (my favoite), sea-ponies for fun in the bathtub, the list goes on and on. I also loved the TV show and movies. The only thing I didn't have was the paradise estate-- I wanted it SO bad, but it was like $100.
Stacey - July 18, 2007 - Report this comment
I didn't have 100 but I had a few. I also had the stable which was also a catwalk. They don't make them like they use to .

I just started this collection about a month ago and all I have is Megan and a mini sundance, a purple pony, and an outfit for her. I loved the stable and babies and the bursery and all the extra clothes you could buy but I ADORED Megan!

My number one most absolute favorite toys of all time! I was 4 years old in 1982 when My Little Pony arrived. I still remember that Cotton Candy was the first of hundreds of ponies I got. Here we are 25 years later and I still collect them...old and new. :)

I absolutely loved these and the way they smelled. I liked all the pretty pictures that came on the side of each pony. I had so many.

I was thrilled when my daughter wanted My Little Ponies for Christmas. I asked her what colors she wanted, went to the attic and wrapped them up. My parents saved everything. It's awesome to see my daughter playing with all my old toys/dolls. At pre-school they could bring one Christmas toy in for show-n-tell. You guessed it-My Little Pony-so I soft scrubbed it and off she went!

My mom bought them for someone's birthday, but I BEGGED her for some & so she gave me 2 of them out of the pack & I STILL have them, the sit on a shelf in my bedroom.

merribeth - December 12, 2007 - Report this comment
Does anyone remember the fairy ponies? They were authentic My Little Ponies, but they had longer legs than most of them, and iridescent wings on their backs with a button in the middle that would make them flap.
Amber - December 19, 2007 - Report this comment
Those were flutter ponies, I have "Forget-me-not" a purple one with white hair. The cheap plastic wing broke off right away I remember but I still loved her and still have her packed away somewhere.

AAAh, I loved my Ponies... but I learned the hard way, MY LITTLE PONIES DO NOT NEED BATHS... did you ever get water stuck in your Pnoy's body? not pretty.
Hannah - January 03, 2008 - Report this comment
When I was maybe 6 or a little older, I had a baby My Little Pony that drank and wet, and a mirror compact. When they came back out, in the 21st century, I bought a few other toys and a VHS, and a coloring book with stickers.
Chris - January 09, 2008 - Report this comment
I had a whole herd of My Little Ponies, but never any stables or castles. My favorites were Blue Bell, Misty the unicorn, Firefly the pegasus, Melody, Lickity Split, and Apple Jack. I had Baby Firefly, a few other ponies and baby ponies whose names I can't remember and a couple of sea ponies. I thought the cartoon was the greatest!! I still remember Megan and the rainbow locket she wore. I know I'm going to show what a HUGE pony dork I am but does anyone else remember the big brother ponies? They came out at the very end and looked like Clydesdales (sp). I never had one of the but wanted one.
Vanessa - January 14, 2008 - Report this comment
Yes! I loved My Little Ponies. I had tons of them, including a few of the flutter ponies and the baby ponies that came as twins with diapers and bottles. LOL I do remember the Big Brother ponies. They were my favorite. Yes, they looked just like Draft horses with huge feet. I remember we had almost all of the big brothers: Tex, a cowboy; Chief, a fireman; Barnacle, a pirate; Quarterback, a football player; Salty and Wigwam.

I have over 200 of these little cuties. Everytime I go to a tagsale, I find one an buy it. I have been collecting them since I could watch their television show! I prefer to buy the originals from the eighties (G1), but I sometimes collect the newer ones (G3), I am not fond of the middle generation ponies (G2). My favorite was baby Glory!
Ann - April 29, 2008 - Report this comment
I had a collection of about 20 when I was younger. Even had some type of a "stable". Got rid of all of it, but 15 years later I've got about 30-40. lol. Love re-collecting.

When I was a little girl I really loved both the TV show and the toys. My dad used to bring them from England, because back in the day they weren't available in my country (it was early post comunism). I still have all 9 of them stored in the My Little Pony suitcase ^_^. I used to have a house/stable for them but sadly my mom threw it away -_-... I also still have a My Little Pony book somewhere...
L.S. - May 09, 2008 - Report this comment
I have a whole bunch, they're in the storage somewhere. The big brother ponies actually weren't the biggest as I recall, there was the daddy ponies as well. It was the daddy, the mommy and the baby who had both parents butt prints and hair color. I wanted the dream castle so bad, but alas, I kind of missed the orginal pony era T-T the first one my mother got me was a bunch of the baby ponies, I can remember sticky and snuffles the new born ponies, baby fire fly, and my first fuzzy pony bowtie whom my brother drew on

I loved my Applejack and Parasol. And I have the greenish baby, with the pink hair and a pink rattle on it's flank, that came with the baby carriage. Mine's tails are missing and their manes have been, um, trimmed. =( But I bought originals in mint for my daughter for this past Christmas. She's still too young to appreciate them but all four are standing on the shelf in her room. And we've started her her own collection of new ones for her to play with. Think she's already trimmed the hair on one. Ooops! lol

Long ago I had a my little pony, sherbert. When i moved out of my home my mom sold her before i had a chance to bring her to my new place. I was on ebay one day and saw a pony like it, (could have sprang for a brand new one but had a strange feeling about the other one). I bought the older pony and i received it today, and i can't stop crying because now i know what my heart was telling me, because the pony i got today, was my sherbert. she found her way home.

I had TONS of these, along with the stable and the My Little Pony nursery. Don't know what happened to them. My favorite was Sunbeam, a light blue unicorn with a white mane and tail, and the mane had a streak of yellow in it. I would play with them in the bathtub for hours, and pretend they were at the beauty parlor, lol. Good times! I want to be a kid again!

I still have most of mine and they are in fairly decent shape. My first MLP was Minty. She was mint green with shamrocks on her side and she had white hair. As I got other ponies, I would pretend she was a boy because she was so plain. My mom even ordered me the specialized birthday pony one year. They made different ones with your birth month's(?) flower on it's side. Mine was December so it had holly on the side. My mom got hers and it was a carnation. Both of them were white with dark pink hair. I had the little seahorses and baby ponies, as well as a set of premie baby ponies named Snookems and Sneakums I believe. I had the pony castle as well as the nursery and the little stable. I had the cloud shower that came with a pegasus pony who had blue ducks on her side and a little duck friend. I had Megan and Sundance as well as Megan's little sister...I cannot remember her name! I remember having ponies that had jewels for eyes and really cool hair. The new MLP's aren't half as cool as the old school ones!

I have to fight myself not to buy them now! I had a lot of 18 my little ponies/flying ponies/unicorns/sea horses. My favorite was Butterscotch. She was caramel colored and had butterflies on her rump. She was my first and my favorite.

I had the Paradise Estate and and an entire stable of the ponies, along with clothes to dress them in and shoes and accessories. This is one toy I wish could have held on to for my children. Checked on Ebay today, and the Paradise Estate in almost new condition is still running near a hundred bucks. Seems the 20 years inbetween didn't do much to change the price.

I remember I also had this My Little Pony Bed sheet that turned into a tent on my bed. It was a little tent like fort. It was the coolest thing EVER! Anyone else had that? My mom gave it away, I am pissed but I hope who ever has it is enjoying it!

Hi Lara, I think the reason why you thought that Minty was a boy was coz of his logo. If you've noticed, most of the ponies (if not all) have girly designs :) Anyway, I adore MY LITTLE PONY. I still buy even up to this day :) But my collections now are comprised of MLP items other than the dolls. I collect bags, mugs, etc. Well I guess that this my way to not let go of these adorable ponies :)

I have over 130, including about 35 vintage. I was a 90s kid, but I remember my preschool having several vintage ponies. My favorites were Baby Ribbs and Baby Sweet Stuff. I was so devastated when they threw them away! Luckily, I was recently accidentally reunited with Baby Sweet Stuff, so I at least have one of them. I had only 2 real ponies of my own, Moondancer and Speedy. I was lucky-when my sister came along, my mother saved them for her. I ended up taking them back when I was 12-lol! They were horrible, but I recently restored them. Happy ending.

Ah!!! Those wonderful 80's my little ponies, I LOVED them all with my heart. I still have them. Sundancer was my very favourite one and Sherbet too. Sundancer holds a very special story. When I was not feeling well, mum got her for me and as soon as I saw her I fell in love with her, she was so pretty and unique - that kind of yellow with rainbow hair was just so pretty! And the wings!! Awwww alicia, that is amazing!!! That was your very own one that got sold? Sherbet was so pretty and smelt so nice. Mine still smells the same. I didnt have the castles or any of the really nice extra stuff, mum could not afford them but I had the beautiful ponies and the seahorses, the flutter ones a couple of them, and some baby ones one that looked like a baby draft horse - was a dark aqua colour with green hair and she was soooo cute.

Well you all have proved what I said to my husband last night when he asked me why I MUST collect my little pony even though I'm a 31 year old adult. My answer was, "Sweetheart, My little pony is like crack for little girls, once you have one you just want another and another and another until you own them all and then you'll start writing letters to Mattel insisting that they make new ponies for you to collect. It's just something that's part of that XX chromosome that we ladies have. It insists that we own and love little ponies! Boys just don't understand" LOL

I got into these guys when I was like four. I was born post 80's, but we went to a yardsale and I saw two MLP's, a rainbow curl one and one with the pocket symbol. We ended up getting the rainbow curl one, (I died a little inside when I found out how much the mint pocket ones are worth years late O.O , but I got hooked and for years it was ponies ponies ponies. Most of the sets, a ton of the ponies of all kinds, other pony stuff. I have a few new ones, but the oldies are my favorites. It's weird, but they smell great. Whenever I pick one up, that smell smells like my elementary school days. I can confidently say that I am the only highscooler who has kept her ponies all these years.

Oh, and the teeny newborn twins! I still have Rescue from Midnight Castle and Escape from Catrina on VHS.

They could have done a better job with the MLP franchise since they changed the Ponies to skinny little ponies. What was wrong with the old girls? Now it seems they only have a handfull of ponies available and just change the outfit or accessories. They should change them back.

Oh I remember that My Little Ponies were my favorite toy in preschool all the way up to second grade! I was four in 2003, and that's when I got my first pony. (the newer kinds from 2003 with the cutie marks and shiny bodies.) My first pony was a Pinkie Pie WITHOUT her balloon cutie mark! Now, all of my ponies are gone because I donated them to Goodwill. But I will always remember them as my favorite childhood toy. :)
