My Little Pony was a huge favorite of mine. I loved to brush their hair with the small plastic combs and brushes they came with. Super cute. I remember when I was about 7 years old (1983) sitting on my front porch at a new home playing with My Little Ponies and it drew in the neighbor girls from across the street who were a year or two older. Score!

Thanks for cheapening my nostalgic dream of my favorite toy with your nonsense spam, alyson. My little pony (the original) was amazing. I don't really like the current version. Anyone remember a skinny-fied version they tried before they went back to a more classic shape? I was ...let's put it... miffed... to think people thought My Little Pony needed to lose weight (like, about half her weight) to fit in, in the new millennium! Leave perfection alone. Waiting for the real deal to return.

My sisters and I had some of the original basic range of My Little Pony, trying to remember some of the names, Forget me Not, Cherries Jubilee & Apple Pie. Cherries Jubilee has some major street cred amongst my gang of friends. Sad, but true!

My sister had loads of My Little Pony stuff in the late 80s/early 90s. Not only about five ponies but also a gigantic pink castle!

I knew this girl who had an entire toybox full of these things when I was a kid. She used to make me play with them with her. I remember just making my Pony kill things.

I had Cotton Candy, Apple Jack and Bubbles. Bubbles was the best because it was sitting down! Me and my sister had a grooming parlour too but the things didn't fit properly on the ponies.

Tracy i too had the grooming parlor i had so many ponies i cant even remember all the ones i had i DO remember my first and that was snuzzles(the gray one pink hair pink hears on her rear) she was my very favorite one:) i wish i could find a duplicate or her(that would be 100 times better:) my second fave was cotton candy:)
claire - June 23, 2012 - Report this comment
did it squeak when you shaked it did it have the s word for snuzzles on her rear a mark on her cheek hair like a troll but longer
hetty - July 02, 2012 - Report this comment
@ Claire, no snuzzles was just all gray on on her rear where bubble gum colored pink hearts... her mane and tail were the same bubble gum pink color, i dont recall them ever "squeaking" when you shook then and no Snuzzle had no S for snuzzle on her rear again it was little pink hearts...what are you talking about? lol. a mark on her cheek like a troll?*hand over my head gesture* that one flew right by me:)

Strangely enough, some Venezuelan MLPs did actually have squeakers in their rears!

I was a boy, but because I was nuts about horses and unicorns in the 80's I wound up with a couple (Bubbles and Glory) for Christmas 1983. By the end of the 80's I had 8, a Firefly plushie, and a few other items. Still have them. And though interest faded in the 1990's, G3 made me a collector again in 2005. After finally getting a computer in 2006 I was able to get the G1's I wanted, but never found back then (namely Firefly and Steamer). That also led me to the world of customs, and I'm still into it with the current G4.

The newer MLPs don't look as cute as the ones made in the 80s. They look anorexic to me.
