the cartoon rocked---monster came to life when you took his orange hadncuffs off and hung out w/ his blond buddy Max. "my pet monster, my very very bestest friend. It's my pet monster, a monster of a friend"

I never saw the cartoon, but my brother had the corny movie on tape and also the stuffed animal. Then as a teenager he enjoyed drop-kicking it around his room... I took it from him, sewed up his neck and rescued him.

i was totally obsessed with the movie and cartoon... i had a doll, which i regretfully gave to my girlfriend, and we got in a fight and she threw it away!!! .... bummmer

HAHAHA!!! I loved this thing and his handcuffs...as a kid, all my friends wanted one and I had it! I loved it and refused to give it away...when I got to 6th-7th grade I used to practice kissing boys on him...pitiful...I just got rid of it about 4 years ago, the newer versions came out but they aren't quite as cool

My buddy actually got caught stuffing the pet monster back in 1992 - freshman year of high school. He sewed the doll back up after we caught him. It was kind of messed up with the handcuffs and all.

That is pretty weird. I had a friend that did the same thing with one of those things. Some people are pretty messed up.

I have the origional Monster I bought in 1986. His name is Spike. I found the talking monster on e-bay and his name is Junior. Even as adults we have fun with the monsters. They do monster stuff. Spike is 22 now and looks like new. We are trying to find out when Junior was made to give him an age. Any help would be cool. Because Spike is older he likes to smoke, drink and play cards among other things. We know they sneak out at night and cause monster trouble.

wasn't allowed to have one when I was a kid, cuz "its a boy's toy" PUH-LEEZ!!! So about 6 years ago, BIG LOTS had 'em for $10, so I grabbed one and gave myself a great mother's day present. The lady in front of me in line was laughin her butt off @ so was my then 5 yr old daughter. I was playin with him and hugging him like he was a long lost friend. Still have him too, he sits and watches TV with my 3 year old, she calls him her "not scary monster friend"

when i was little my brother was scared of his MPM so at night i would take the toy out of his closet and place it on his dresser he'd wake up screaming it was hilarious!

Loved mine and the movie. We may say that they are corny now but we still luv'em like we did back then.

I Got MPM Christmas morning and he didnt fit in the paper right, so his nose was pokeing out. When I saw the green I knew and I went nuts. along with dogs, monsters and other fantastic beasts were one of my two major childhood obsessions. Naturally I wanted one of these from the second I saw the commercial.It was all I could talk about. I finally got one for Christmas 1986 from my aunt. I loved that stuffed monster. Soon the others followed. the three smaller ones and the Football Monster, plus the Lunch Box and coloring and story books. I had all sorts of adventures with them, sort of a Calvin and Hobbes sort of deal. The football monster and lunch box was acquired in Indiana at Children's Palace during a visit to my grandfather's. My mom loves to recount the story of waiting for the bus to arrive on the way back home from the trip. It was the middle of the night and I was exhausted. I finally said "if that bus doesn't come soon I'm gonna die" to which a man sitting nearby said "If you do can I have your monster" My mom says I just looked at the guy like he was out of his mind. I remember taking two of the smaller ones on a field trip once so a friend and I could play with them. My friend liked the orange one who due to his two fangs he claimed was a vampire. He used to make my monster bite his neck. He also claimed the three smaller ones were like the Critters from the monster movie of the same name. He'd make them roll around and shoot imaginary spikes at people. I still maintain that they were better than either of the creatures he compared them to though the critters comparison was more tolerable than the vampire one. I hate vampires. Worst movie monster ever. I also watched the movie and the cartoon. I Had the movie and all the episodes on tape. I wanted the power to turn into a monster like in the movie. While I loved the cartoon at the time, I realize it could have been tons better than it was. It seems to me they took a great concept and phoned it in.

I hope it's better than the last time they tried to rerelease him. I didn't care much for that one. It wasn't as ugly and ferocious looking as the original. And it was smiling. The original didn't smile. I actually have three of the originals, My Pet Monster, My Football Monster and Wogster, the smaller pink one, all bought on Ebay. Wogster travels in my backpack. These monsters mean a lot to me. All my best childhood memories revolve around them.

everyones kid brother had one of these. i had minatureone o git in kids meal at carls junior. i remeber how badly my little cousin wanted one of these and he got one for christmas.

Michelle, the orange monster puppet was named Gwonk, the purple one was Rark and the pink one was Wogster. They all appeared on one episode of the cartoon, though strangely the Football Monster never did. I had all five as a kid. It was the only toyline I loved enough to "Collect em' all". I remember putting Rark in Layaway because I couldn't afford the whole fifteen bucks or so he cost. When I went to get him out a couple weeks later the people at Layaway couldn't find him. My mom and I waited an hour or more for them to locate my poor monster and finally because we had someplace to be ( had to pick up a friend who was sleeping over that night ) I had to go to the toy isle and get another Rark because they never could find the original. I sometimes wonder what became of him.

They did all kinds of adventures and sometimes that had a scratch and sniff chapter. I can't remember the name of them for the life of me. It was "The --- Gang" Can anyone help me?

i LOVED my monster so much. i was about 4 or 5 when i got him and took him everwhere. i was a tiny little girl dragging along a big ugly monster. my little brother got jelous and got a gwonk! we where monster crazy!
