Nerf footballs were AWESOME to through around at this big friend's campout that I used to go too....we had a few kids my age & we LOVED throwing Nerf footballs. I was wondering what happened to them, they were always so cool because they had the soft, but not too soft texture.

I had a 3rd grade teacher who would let us sit on our desks and toss one of these around.

The Nerf boomerang was what we all had. It was bendable foam with three wings sticking out from the center. They were so popular, drive around the neighborhood and you're bound to see one on somebody's roof.

I had the boomerang for about five min. before it ended up on the roof. never got it down either.

The Nerf boomerang was my favorite toy of all time. I liked to throw it at people and watched them duck as it turned in mid air and returned to me! It was pretty funny.

I have been trying to find a toy basketball hoop that we had back in the 80s that had a black metal bracket that was supposed to go over the door. We actually slid it between the wall and the door jamb trim in our living room and it worked amazingly. I have small boys now and I know they would love it for our living room if I could find one. It came with an orange "puff" ball.

Do you know where to find an original one?
Robby - May 19, 2009 - Report this comment
Didn't they reissue the original Nerfoop? And not the "retro" one that frequently comes up on eBay. I thought I remembered seeing an exact replica of the original remade. Maybe called "Classic" instead of "Retro" Also, Nerf Boomerangs must be pretty rare now. I have searched for them periodically on eBay and have NEVER seen one come up. Lastly, does anyone remember the Nerf UFO (Unidentified Floppy Object)?

We are looking for an over the door basketball game - Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan (??) - side by side hoops, scoreboards and clickers that kept a count of the baskets made. We had a blast playing this game with our little boys and would love to find it again for our grandkids. Any help is appreciated!!!!

I think Barkley, our dog, got ahold of the Nerf Ball. Chewed it. The ball had a hole in it, but my sister and I continued to throw the ball in the house.

Didn't nerf make something called 'Finger Poppers'? You kinda squeezed them between two fingers & they popped out.

Nerf toys became safe, yet deadly weapons among my siblings. Had they not been child friendly, we would have beat each other to pieces with them...lol.

I remember the Nerf boomerang and Nerf ping-pong...you could set the net up on any table and play. My buddies and I used to just see how long we could keep the ball in the air with the paddles.

To the person who said about remembering the nerf unidentified floppy object, yes I do remember it because I still have a black one. Also have and old black nerf 3 wing Boomerang that whistles, and an old blue nerf football. I loved the 80's there was some very fun toys to play with. Sadly most toys are replaced with video games now. XD

Ok, my sister and I were just talking about a toy we used to love to play with, but neither of us can remember what they were called. It was a long pink "canon type" barrel that you insert the yellow balls in. Then, as you pump the blue handle the yellow balls would shoot out. Anyone remember these?

I am trying to remember what its called. I am pretty positive its Nerf. It was a ball on strings. On each end of the strings there were handles. You pull the handles apart when the ball is on your side and to push it over to the other person. If anyone knows what it is please let me know. Thank you

Nerf footballs were the 'bomb'. After a period of time of playing with it, the nerf would erode away, so your fingers fit perfectly into the groove. I was always Dan Fouts!

I have a Nerf protective case for my DS gaming system. I'm not sure it is made by a different company rather than Hasbro, who now owns the trademark.

I have 3 Nerf items. 1 is a Nerf protective case for the Nintendo DS. 2 are Nerf Rebelle weapons (those are aimed at girls).

From the Saturday morning cartoon vault, TV spot for Nerf baseball and softball. The ad stressed that kids could "play harder (fielding)" with these in place of regulation, cowhide-sewn balls. Parker Bros. sold these back then. This aired on "Kidd Video" over NBC (6/1/85). "Kidd Video" was a musical-fantasy series by DIC Entertainment. 26 episodes were filmed over two seasons. The "Master Blaster" has four teens trapped in an animated, futuristic world, aided by three inept cats. The animation and character drawing differed between seasons one and two. The kids were assisted by a pixie girl named Glitter, who sneezed when trouble was about to happen.
