Description
Yes, believe it or not, this WAS introduced in the '80s - 1989, to be exact. The Gameboy was introduced as a portable version of Nintendo's 8-bit NES. Four models later [The Super Gameboy, for playing Gameboy games through your Super Nintendo; the Gameboy Pocket, a 'slimmer' version of the old Gameboy; Gameboy Color, and Gameboy Advanced, the current model], it's still in production. Also introduced was the first game, Tetris.

Loved this for only one reason- TETRIS.. This was my younger brothers game boy- that was the only game I could handle with out wanting to throw the thing and bust it..

Tetris was awsome, I also loved the Final Fantasy games. This made long road trips bearable when I was a kid.

Loved this for Tetris. My sister got one, I didn't, so I stole it all the time and lied as long as I could. Now I have that Tetris music in my head.

I never had one. One of the children from my church (who's family was wealthy) introduced her Gameboy at a party on the day the Gameboy was first released! We were so amazed by it that we didn't want to leave when the party was over! I played Tetris until my fingers hurt!

Another thing my big sister had that I'd play with when she wasn't around. I think when you grow up with systems like Atari and Nintendo, you love video games for life.

The Super Mario Land Game was my favorite. Tetris was a good game too. My favorite music on Tetris is the music they play for the scoreboard. It sounds so pretty!

Older siblings had the original grey one. I had the next generation; same basic shape and size, but the grey part was now available in more colors. Still have it. Mine's green. I also still have the Gameboy Camera.

I always wanted one as a kid, but only ever had Nintendo. I think that is why I got a Nintendo DS Lite at the age of 25.

My big brother had this a long time ago. I think he had Mario Brothers, Zelda, and Tetris. I played Tetris on the newer version Gameboy.

I still have my original Gameboy, and so does my older brother. I still think, that in my opinion, the only good game for it is Tetris. Regular video games are just no good for it. I still play with mine sometimes.

My older used to have one of these. I used to play with it at a family barbecue over a decade ago.

I loved Gameboy!I was the very few girls I knew that had one.It seemed more populaer among boys. It was like having a miniature personal NES. The games were cheaper than NES also. My parents liked it because it didn't tie up the tv.

I never owned a Gameboy (Own a DS now) but so many friends had it I played it enough. If this system didn't come packaged with Tetris, I don't think it'd have been popular. Tetris made this system what it is. Some good games (I like Sumer Mario Land 1 and 2) but Tetris was what this little bad boy was all about. I remember thinking the cartridges were cute, looking like mini NES cartridges.

LOVED TETRIS!! and wario land, that was cool. My mate had the magnifier thingy with the light, which made me jealous because he could play in the dark and i couldnt! I just found it too, the tetris game is actually faded where it sticks out of the top of the slot..

Entry is old. The GB is not called the GB anymore. Now it is the 3DS. You'll see retro gamer kids playing the GB, though.

I only remember playing two games on the original Game Boy...Super Mario Land and Tetris. However, I might have, at one time, played Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, but that memory is a bit fuzzy. How I wish Nintendo and Game Boy (with accompanying games) would return. The heck with modern technology and progress! The 1980s was the best decade of my life. I wish there really was a time machine that could transport people to the past or future. I'd go right back to the 1980s and stay there as long as possible.

I used to have a game boy original but I lost it years ago before I got my own XBOX (included was Tetris Worlds) for Christmas in 2003. Long live the XBOX and Tetris. I never stop playing Tetris from day to night until the XBOX is turned off.

SCREW GAME BOY! THE PSP (PlayStation Portable) is way more better. Included with the Lilac PSP game system: 2 Hannah Montana UMD discs. The UMD discs look like mini NES cartridges but hold a lot of data than DVDs, music CDs and Blu-ray Discs combined). You could connect your PSP to a PS2 game system, a PS3 game system, a PS4 game system, a PC running Windows XP/Vista (compatible with newer versions of Windows) or a Intel-based Macintosh computer running Mac OS X (using a USB cable) to transfer files on the go such as movies, music, photos, PlayStation games, Minecraft skins, PKG files and CFW updates.
