I had one of these when I was 5. she scared me and my mom because we didn't know that if you didn't say anything to her for about five minutes, she said bye-bye. And right at the moment that I got up to go to the bathroom and she said bye-bye. We almost burned her til we looked at the instruction manual and saw that was part of her program. LOL

I had this doll! Can't remember when I got her, but she was definately my favorite. I had every book that went with her. Remember they came with stickers that you could place in the book and kinda create a story there. That was cool. I still have her, or my mom does anyway. Recently took a picture of my son (2) sitting with her like she was his girlfriend. It was so cute!!

Pamela! She was my favorite doll growing up. This was mostly because she scared my brother and numerous cousins. They found her talking creepy. I have her to this day, sitting on a pot-shelf in my childhood bedroom. My cousins are all grown up, but she still scares them. When I was a teenager, I tried brushing out her hair. My efforts unfortunately went to waste. Pamela's hair is now in two very puffy, nasty pigtails.

I got Pamela for Christmas I think in 1987. She was AMAZING. You could get those expansion sets that came with an outfit, sticker book (with those plastic cling stickers), and a little electronic card to stick in her back so she'd say different stuff. I had "Pamela goes camping" and "Pamela goes out to eat" or whatever they were called. The outfit for the camping one was a purple sweatsuit with magenta trim and the going out to eat one was a fancy dress, red velvet or something. They came with shoes and everything. Pamela was so great. Her hair was a real problem though. It got really tangled and puffy.

Does anybody have any suggestions for combing out her tangly matted-looking hair?

I was 4 and I asked Santa for a 'Pamela Doll', not knowing that they existed. When I opened up the box and saw her on Christmas morning, I thought that he had made her just for me!

Haha! I know exactly what you all mean about the hair. I tried to fix her hair and it ended up all matted. I had her until the fateful day I decided she needed a bath.

I got my Pamela doll for my 17th (1987)birthday from my boyfriend at the time. Pamela was packed away for 18yrs. She now resides in my daughters bedroom. Her hair too is a "rats nests". I must have wanted her because of my name also being Pamela.

OMG!!! I totally had this doll and have been searching for her on the web just to bring back memories! I got her for my 6th birthday...and mine too has a rats nest full of hair! It's like plastic hair or something and cannot be combed out! I'm sure we have all tried...I still have mine too! so cool to see her again!

I remember the wierd bye bye thing happening when we were pulling out of our driveway. Was freaky, yeah her hair was a big problem. I still wish I had her though. She was the best doll even with the nasty hair. 80's toys rocked.

This was so my favorite doll growing up and everyone knew it. She did freak me out sometimes too with the random talking. I wish I still had her. I remember one story about her getting ready for bed and she had a pajama set to go with it. What a cool doll!

My dad got this for me even though it was probably way too expensive for him. He has always loved "gadgets" and I suppose this doll excited him b/c of what she could do. Plus, he probably felt it was "meant to be" because my name is Pamela. I didn't even know she existed, he just showed up one day with the doll, ALL of the outfits, and ALL of the cartridges and playbooks with the stickers. I was only 3 or 4 when I got her, but I played with her for many years, and still have her along with all of her clothes, accessories, and cartridges in the attic. I remember that if you put the "At the beach" cartridge in her back, and you pressed her cheekbone (right below her eye) she would say "THE SUN, IS IN MY EYES". It sounded kind of like the way a robot would say it. EVEN TODAY when my mom and I are in the car and the sun shines in the windshield one of us will sometimes say "The sun, is in my eyes", just like the doll used to say it. It is fun.

My sister and I loved this doll, until we watched Childs play, after that, she sat in the closet, I'm still a little spooked w/ the talking and moving dolls now.
