A lot like 'Pound Puppies', these were cats and kittens that came in little kennels for you to adopt.

Call me crazy, but I liked the Purries better than the Puppies. I made sure my mom held onto those and now my daughter plays with them.

I wish I still had mine :( I had a little white kitten with some kind of overall outfit for it...and two of the big ones, one was an orange and white one I called Rusty, and I remembet it having a horrible pink Hawaiian shirt and shorts outfit, lol.

Check your local thrift stores, garage sales, and Goodwills. I just bought two of these for my daughter (LOVES Kitties) for a quarter a piece. I also had one as a child. I played with it until it fell apart.

There were 2 versions of Pound Purries: the first run has very pointed faces. Then they came out with the ones like in the display picture that had the rounder faces. I had a big white one wearing a jean jacket with the pointy face and then a little siamese-like kitten with the squishier face. So cute!

I had a set of sheets that were Pound Purries. They were my favorite! I would cry when my mom would take them off to wash them!

I still have my pound purry! I wanted a cat when I was 3 but my sister was allergic so my mom bought me one and said "here this is the closest thing you'll ever have to a cat". I instantly loved it and it became my comfort item. I slept with it and brought it everywhere with me. I remember once I dropped her in the toilet in the middle of the night and cried until my mom came and fished it out. I'm 25 now and she still stays on my bedside table. She's been all over the world with me. Oh, and I named her Kattadee. LoL She's all white with a brown stripe from her nose over her head to her neck.

I loved the pound purries when I was little. I recently found one today at a thrift store. Now I just have to keep my mom's chihuahua and my two cats from playing with it.

I am trying to find my old black pound purry kitty. I cannot find it online anywhere not even on google, ebay or amazon. It's driving me nuts. I want a piece of my childhood back by getting my black pound purry from the 1980s back! If anyone knows please share a link to where I can find him thanks.

Since they just brought back pound puppies I wonder if they'll do pound purries. I just bought a pound puppy at AC Moore
