This toy was pretty entertaining. However, manuevering them up stairs was always a challange for that little magnetic wand.

My cousin still has the mansion, & we had fun playing with it. I've started to collect them. I'm even collecting unpunched items. My husband & I want to make a complete good set, & the other one my daughter can play with. As long as she closes her door, because her brothers will lose pieces! LOL

Barbara - June 05, 2008 - Report this comment
My daughter was 8 when the Precious Places line came out. We bought her most of it, but she never really played with it much. She wasn't much for sitting still. I liked it more than she did I think. Recently I decided to redo her old bedroom now that she's been through college, is married and it is the guest room. I got her Precious Places out of storage and, with the exception of the fence around the walkway, everything is in excellent shape. Maybe someday I'll have a granddaughter who enjoys playing with all the Precious Places and she and I can play.

Whatever happened to the little roads. Didn't Fisher-Price at one time make little snap roads that would connect from one place to another? I seem to remember my favorite being and ice skating rink?. Am I thinking of the samething or something different?

This was one of my favorite things when I was about 6-7. I had the pet pageant, the pet store, and BEGGED for the mansion (I finally got it for Christmas '90). My sister and I played with this stuff for YEARS, even as pieces came up missing one by one. Finally we grew up and ended up getting rid of the last piece. Now I wish I would have kept my Precious Places sets, because I know my friends' little girls (my "nieces) would love them once they got a little older. I might start collecting them again just for them, and for my own kids once I have them. They are definitely a staple of my childhood.

I LOVED these!! Was my all time fave toy as a young girl. My twin sister and I would play for HOURS!! We had so much fun! I think we had pretty much everything but the pet places. They sure were a great toy. They don't make things like they used to. Good memories!!

Looking back, my sister and I had almost the whole set also. I wouldn't give it up for the world though! My aunt (5 years my senior) had the Oh Jenny set, but recently sold it at a yard sale. I was talking to my husband about it. He had all the micro machines. It seems all the toys we had in the 80s wre alot smaller. I think toy safety stadards have changed greatly since we were kids. That's why things have gotten so much bigger...

I'm glad there were more fanatics about precious places than me! I still have the mansion, gazebo, country house, nursery, chapel, pet shop and horse stable and had a few of the small side things like the gymnastic girl and the ice pond! The only thing is that the stickers are yellowed and kinda old looking. Anyone have any ideas how to make it look new again?

Oh how I loved this toy when I was young. Unfornate my parents didnt get me the entire collection I have the nursery house. Pretty sure all the peices are still with it. I handed it down to my little sister years ago and it is still in the closet in the box. Now that I have a little girl of my own I would love to buy up if I could find them and collect for her. Wouldnt it be nice if they made them again. Toys are def not what they used to be. Another favorite was the fairy winkles. That too I didnt get lucky enough for the whole collection but would love to start one for my daughter.

The only part I have left -the spinning base of the gazebo..the part that plays music- just broke! (When I wind it, it just quickly unwinds without playing music). My kids like to hear the song while they fall asleep. Anyone have this part that they want to sell? or a not-too-expensive whole gazebo? I don't think my kids would be too interested in the gazebo (that's why I wouldn't want to spend too much), but they love the music! If you can help, email me: Thanks! (or maybe someone knows how to fix something like this?)

The only problem is that I am not a millionaire and it is hard to find anything online that isn't obnoxiously overpriced. If you are in Canada and willing to sell for a decent price, email me!! I just got done playing with our village with my 6 yr. old grandchild (Anna). It use to be her mommy's. We are trying to find something that we can use for trees so it looks exactly like the picture of the village.

They're all so beautiful!! ;3; I had the gazebo, and remember it like it was yesterday, although I'm now 26. Oh, how I loved that toy. I think my great-grandmother got it for me--or was it my grandma? Either way, I was mega-grateful. 8'D So awesome. For years I remembered and wondered what it had been, and then finally one day, a search for "magnetic gazebo toy" brought it right back to me, clear as day. It's incredible how sometimes I can input every key term related to an old item I'm trying to identify or find, and absolutely no matches are located...while other times, I can get straight to it. I have found images for most of my scores of beloved old toys which we no longer have this way, but there are still some things I distinctly recall that I cannot for the life of me find...8\ Frustrating!!

A young girl, who is ten year of age, is old enough to take responsibility over the cattle since her Parents decided to go traveling around the world. The Horse and Carriage pick her up at her school while her school mate wave good bye. Traveling on the open road two blue birds flew in through window introducing themselves: George and Gracie: They are two Birds who will be her Guidance Counselors and ethic moral Educators Trainers. George and Gracie were excited she decided to come. Passing Empress Palace Rosemarie and her sisters watch over a distance as the carriage Passes by. The Carriage crosses the border toward Palace Key Road they told her about finding lots of Surprises. Serinea could not help but wonder What kind of Surprises? They told her she could find lot of surprises even in this carriage. George tells her to look for the mark of the heart. She presses the button of the back padded chair. A tray pulls out a big turkey, Rice, salad dinner. They finally arrive! Swan Princess Palace: George jump for joy with Explanation said “were here”! “Were here”! “Asking Serinea to take a look around”? Serinea amazed how big the palace is run toward the palace accidently pushing down one the cement blocks opening up the castle doors. The Palace Throne Room: Chairs or Kitchen opens up a dinner table with fruits and Vegetables she give it a try, freshly picked. The Wardrobe and Closet full with different types of shoes, cloths, Fashion wear and Bed time wear. She tells them “Do not worry my little darling I will take good care of you”. Not a wear she pushed one of the pillars patio brick hedge button down sounding the ball call. Once a Ball call is sounded there is no taking it back. The Problem is she just got there. Let alone she could not handle this big task by herself. Serinea then asks for Iris’s help! She makes a paper me shad hanging on the ceiling. The wet paper is not sticky enough a strip drops to the ground surface as well as paint. The Problem: None were listening to each other Gracie tells George. George suggested they will find a way to figure things out, together. He hear a thud one the Chip Munks slip of the bike crashing into on the rail, then he gulps! He hopes. This when the Incident occurred: One of the Chip Muck rode out of control into the list fold, and tipping cake bowl the plastered all over plastic glasses from the table creating making mess. Nottita upset tried to rescue her cake slip into the bowl plastered, the batch all gone. The bird landed her Serinea knee telling her “not all is yet lost”. “There time to fix this”. “This time tried to listen to each other and start over”. “There is time to resolve the situation”. Serinea then clench her fist got up and started over with the girls this time listened to each idea: Staring with Gabriella: she wants to make a list: to who does what. She likes to be organized. Nottita: wants to make a huge Cake as big as a castle, or Serinea suggested Make a mountain of Cup Cakes. Iris: will help with the Cup Cakes and the decorations; she wants to put up a banner Boca of beautiful flowers in the palace. Nottita likes the idea and calls it perfect!
