I LOVED my pumpkin patch kid, I wouldn't go anywhere without her. I used to kiss her little face, she was my own little baby! Wish I could find it again.

I think my sister had a Pumpkin Path kid! She had brown hair and wore a blue dress. She probably still has her in the garage somewhere. She got her as a gift one year. My mother always thought that the Cabbage Patch kids were ugly so she would never buy us one. I agree that the Pumpkin Path Kids are more attractive.

I still have my Pumpkin Patch - she has RED pig tails and her name is Peggy. I loved her soooo Much when I was a girl.

For Tammy: I think the pictures I've submitted are of the Peggy Pumpkin Patch kid (although I changed her name to Katie). I love Pumpkin Patch kids! They're so cute!
Chris - September 18, 2008 - Report this comment
Wow I was wondering if anyone even had these anymore. I'd like to add that they are both Penny and Peggy Pumpkins. I have a box that says Peggy Pumpkin but i have seen them with Penny as well. I am not sure what the differences are though. I think that Penny Pumpkins might have a different smile. Over the last few years i've done as much research as i could on these as I collect them.

I had a Patty Pumpkin. Our dog chewed her bangs off so my Mom threw her out one day when I was at school. I was devastated. Does anyone know where to get these dolls?

i have 2 of these dolls a girl and boy i got these for a present from my grandfather(he thought they were cabbage patch kids). the funny thing is i have made sure everywhere i have lived that i had these dolls but do not have any of the cabbage patch kids i have ever owned and i have had about 10 of them, they have ended up in the goodwill pile. i plan on giving them to my daughters as a keepsake.

I had Patty Pumpkin. She was had brown hair. My mom bought it for me because CPK's were faught over and all the store had left were blondes. I REALLY want to find one for my daughter. This is the ONLY site I could find that was actually about the dolls!

My daughter had a pumpkin patch doll, that she loved from 1 year old . She is now 25 and the poor doll is now pretty raggedy. I'm looking to find another one that I can replace the body with. The doll we have is now more patches than body. Do you know what company made them, or where we can get one?

I think I have a pumpkin patch kid. I had all of my childhood dolls in a box...and retreived them for my daughter to play with. She has white lace up shoes made on to her feet. Her hair and everything is just like a cabbage patch except for her body is made to sit down.

I forgot what these were called. I have a pink haired one. She is pretty small, smaller than an toddler CPK doll. I remember I use to put her inside my baby walker Taxi thing. She's all dirty now especially her hair, and one of her eyes doesn't close properly.

I had a bald pouty faced pumpkin patch doll that I got when I was five. She now has pink felt "makeup" and bindi, courtesy of the little girl up the street from me who borrowed my doll until I insisted she finally return her. Years later when I needed a "baby" for a dance class (we were nannies from Mary Poppins) the teacher was worried that there would be glare off of her bald non-cabbage patch head from the stage lights. Daisy still lives at my mom's house.

Wow I just can't believe there were so many like me. I've read the stories and can so relate. I hated my PPK when i first realized it was a CPK knockoff...but grew to love the red yarn headed, soft pink bodied baby more than ever. I think her name was Peggy...but I called her Suzy. I remember I broke my Mother's heart when I rejected her. I, like so many of you, assumed I didn't get the CPK because of lack of $$ but...my Mom really did go thru he11 and high water trying to get me one. She even had a local doll maker make me a fake CPK. I remember when I opened it that year for Christmas being so excited not realizing it was a fake due to the lack of stamp on the butt....until I so eagerly took her to school and the snooty girls pointed out her fakeness. I went home in tears and that's when My mom tried to correct the damage with my PPK. My Mom passed away 6 yrs ago and what I wouldn't give for that bag of my baby dolls I dragged around for years as an adult....that ended up back in storage at my parents house...until my Dad thru them away after he thought they were damaged from a flood in the storage. I miss my mother dearly and would love to find another red yarn headed PPK. If anyone has one they'd like to sale please email me at grinzngiggles@aol.com

Hi I just recieved 2 pumpkin patch kids for a present from my mother. I have no sentimental attahment to them so if there is someone out there that would like to purchase one of them from me I would be much obliged to let you relive your childhood memories! They are both in original boxes, the boxes are a little beat up but the dolls are perfect, never been taken out. Plastic still on the feet. I have Patty Pumpkin and newborn pumpkin. A reasonable offer will not be refused. emilycecile44@gmail.com

Growing up, we didn't have a lot of money and one Christmas, my two sisters wanted CPK dolls but they were too expensive so my parents bought them Pumpkin Patch Dolls instead and they of course were upset that they weren't CPK dolls but my Dad explained to them that the Pumpkin Patch Dolls needed a home and someone to love them too. It was a sweet time we all like to look back on and such a great lesson. Those dolls got passed down to me and I loved them just as much.

Bought my daughter a Patty Pumpkin doll (brown hair) for Christmas when she was 3. She fell in love, wouldn't accept anything but that Patty was "real". Patty went everywhere with us. The following Christmas I bought a bed, swing, chair, clothes.....everything for her to play with Patty. When I stopped her from sitting in the swing, saying she was to big and it was for Patty to swing in, she cried big tears and said "It's not fair, Santa brought everything for Patty and nothing for me!" Needless to say, I felt lower than dirt and Patty lost some of her popularity. My daughter is now 28 with two girls of her own and she recently said she sure wished Patty was still around.

I truely thought I was the only one that never had a CPK, but instead had a pumpkin patch kid! I have had Peggy as long as I can remember. She always finds a place in my house somewhere. Both my aunt and my mom made me their own versions of a CPK, but it was my Pumpkin Patch that came everwhere with me. So great to know that I was not the only one!

My parents bought me a pumpkin patch preemie when I was little. We didn't have enough money for a cabbage patch, the prices just got way to high for a long time. When my parents gave me my baby I feel in love instantly. Her name was Melissa. She went everywhere with me, slept with me and anything else. She was with me through chickenpox, the measles, and any other childhood ailments I had. I am 40 years old now, and Melissa was my baby sisters first doll and my daughters first doll as well. My oldest daughter is having a baby now and I just don't think she could make it through another child. My Melissa sleeps with me every night. I love my baby Melissa and I can't bring myself to take the chance at all. I have been looking online to try and find another one like her. I haven't been able to find one though. I did see that on the top of this page there is a picture of a baby just like her. She is the one in the little red and white onesie. I would love to buy one. Someone please help!

I just found mt daughters doll which we always called Patty. I'm not sure if it is her real nAme but she had the red plaid outfit. My daughter loved that doll more than any other, so I never had the heart to get rid of it. She's pretty beat up, so I just performed surgery to sew her up, and now I need to wash her. Any suggestions? I'm getting her fixed up for my granddaughter.

I found my doll at a resale shop 10 years ago. I named her Kate. She was a blonde baby-doll with blue eyes and I adored her throughout my childhood. When she was a few years older I found a blue Fashion Angel wig for her so she would look older. I slept with her, watched television with her. I took her everywhere I went, at least until I got into middle school years is where I stopped toting around places. Now I'm in the high school, I still sleep with my Kate, and play on the computer with her and everything else (except toting her around in public). Kate is awesome, I honestly think that PPK dolls are better than CPK kids because unlike the CPK dolls which are really ugly, PPK dolls are so cute and attractive. I am glad I still have her, I will cherish her forever.

I had bought my mom all three of the pumpkin patch dolls because their names were Penny Patty and Peggy just like ours. She kept them on her headboard of her bed until she moved then gave them back to me. She passed away last week so I gave one of them to each of my sisters granddaughters and then mine to my granddaughter.
