Description

The toy rattle me bones was a game where the skeleton came on a boat steering wheel on top of a treasure chest. The object of the game was to pull off the jewelery of the skeleton and put it in the treasure chest. The object was picked by a spinning wheel that has pictures of all the jewelery on it.

just have to throw my 2 cents in for this one. This game and the theme music stuck in my head like a repetitive song on the radio for years and now im finally lookin it up via internet in hopes of shakin this curse from my head.....

Yup, I remember the theme song too. They must have played that commercial a lot. If I recall correctly it was a game kind of like Operation, except the skeleton would shake if you touched it wrong. Is that right?

OMG I used to have one! It was very similar to "operation", You would pick the jewellery off the skeleton and put it in the chest, and if you made a bad move or touched the skeleton wrong it would shake like mad. The skeleton also glowed in the dark. I still remember the first time we played with it and the first time it shook we all nearly peed our pants. Such a great game :-)

I had one of these, but lost the pieces rather quickly because when he would shake a lot of the items would fly off only to get sucked up by the vaccume.

Ours was seriously possessed... it would go off at night for no reason at all. It scared us to death- my brother, who wanted the game so badly, got it for Christmas... only to banish it to the basement playroom as the glowing skeleton gave him nightmares. haha.

I remember this! :) My sister got it for Christmas one year, and loved it (if I remember correctly, she gave the skeleton a name and would use it as a doll, as well as playing the actual game). It used to terrify me, though... ;^^

I was cleaning a closet just now and found a brand new "Rattle me Bones" game, never opened. I bought it in 1989 in anticipation of having grandchildren some day. I'm torn between wanting to sell it or give it to my grandkids I now have who are 5,5,8,11 and 12.

I have one of these in great condition in the box with instructions, but I am looking for a few of the pieces that go on the skeleton. I have the parrot and the pipe and a few of the coins, but that's all. I need the spinner, hat, eye patch, necklace, etc. Any help? Ebay is a bust. Thanks.

I actually still have mine, but my husband says the gears are stripped. I really want to open it and replace the gears since my 1 yr old likes it do much. The cheapest I've seen is on ebay and it's $20 after shipping....although the most expensive is $50 -- ppl must know what they have!
