Somehow I'd get these through school, probably the book fair. They'd have the gross ones too, I still have a Trapper Keeper with some in it, but they don't smell anymore.

I remember my cousin collected these things. She had a huge book, all decorated nice, stickers all orginized. She must have had 200. I remember the chili dog one. Never liked the smell, but it was one of those that you just couldn't stop smelling.

I had some that smelled like strawberries. The stickers were in the shape of teddy bears baking sweets or picking strawberries.

As a matter of fact, back in the day I could scratch a mean sticker. All the ladies could see my skillz and they dug it. It made fourth grade oh so delicious.
Marky D. - June 04, 2008 - Report this comment
He said "Ladies" in the fourth grade, hahahaha! But yeah, the pickle one got me everytime.

When I was in Jr. High, we sold something called "Smelly Stationery" for our Teen Club. The "Smelly Stationery" came in two flavors (that we sold, anyway), Olive Pizza and Strawberry. They used the 3M die-cut "scratch-n-sniff" version of stickers. I've seen the stickers alone for between $1-$3 dollars each on Ebay. Does anyone else remember "Smelly Stationery"?
SavageLettuce - September 11, 2008 - Report this comment

Sandy - December 17, 2008 - Report this comment
I loved these. I remember getting the pine tree and popcorn ones with faces on them, but my favorite was a huge Mello Smello peach sundae. I wish they'd go back to the old matte stickers like in the 80's. They smelled the strongest and lasted longest.
Mel - December 18, 2008 - Report this comment
Why don't they make these anymore? Was there something toxic in the scenting, lol? I remember the popcorn one...we used to get those in school a lot.
Rebecca - December 19, 2008 - Report this comment

I have tried to find a sticker book as well, but can't. Thought I could collect new ones, but would like a book. Can anyone help Please. My email is: mazzamazzamoo01@hotmail.co.uk.

My first smelly sticker came from a quarter machine at the supermarket, and it was hamburger scent. On it was a a cartoonish image of an orange bear munching on a burger, did not love the smell but it was my fav as far as appearance. My fav scent would prolly be cola, I had a puffy/smelly cola one that was in the classic shape of a glass pop bottle...with a red label...but it was not coca~cola. And another one I loved, I have seen online...I remember it smelling like cotton candy, but it is listed online as "cherry". It had an image of a clown...the head only not full body...and it was orange-yellow-pink. Out of all of the ones shown here I had the yellow "dino-mite!" one. And ewww, I used to have a set of fish ones and one of them had a fish taking a bubble bath...so after a friend smelled one and was grossed out, I would trick them into smelling the bubble-bath one by saying it smelled like soap and not fishy, lol! ;)

Collecting stickers was awesome when I was little. We'd take them off our graded papers, and collect as many cool ones as we could. We had great big sticker albums and we'd trade stickers all the time. I recently started to re-create my 80's album. So fun! But expensive on Ebay. I started with these Trend scratch n sniffs, and moved on to puffy, satins, oilies, smurfs.... It's addictive!!!

Collecting stickers was the most awesome thing when I was a kid. We'd take them off our graded papers, and collect them in a sticker album. We'd trade with each other (that was the most fun). I recently started to re-create a 80's album. I buy on Ebay (expensive though). I started with these Trend scratch n sniffs, and have moved on to smurfs, puffy, fuzzy, satin, oilies.... I'd kill to have my sticker book from back then. I can't remember all of the stickers I even had. If anyone has pics of their original sticker pages....I'd love to see em!

I can truly say I have a passion for 80's stickers. I am going to dig my sticker book out this weekend and do some reminiscing...it's also refreshing to know that other people remember this stuff and think it's still cool...

I had tons of scratch sniff stics as a kid. I was substitute teaching a few years ago and found taco scented ones. How cool! Except when I got to school and opened them I almost collapsed! They were horribly strong of a bad plastic smell. I let another sub smell them when were on break. I said "Here smell these." She inhaled, her mouth dropped open, eyes went up and her head fell back. lol! I still gave them out only to the good kids and they LOVED them.

My first smelly sticker was a popcorn one that my teacher put on my handwriting paper in 2nd grade. I loved that thing sooooo much. I had a few of these, but we didn't have a lot of money, so I couldn't get books full like my friends did. My favorites were popcorn and jelly bean, but my friends and I all loved to smell the skunk and laugh like crazy! That was fun.

I still have my sticker albulms from the early 80's. I will have to check to see if the smelly stickers still smell. Does anyone remember the scratch and sniff smurf stickers? I believe they smell like punch.

I loved these scratch and sniff stickers so much i kept my sticker book, and now i have children of my own that are totally in love with them too. i do need to get new ones as they are pretty much scratched out and pictures are scratched. The smelly stickers today just arn't even close to the old 80's ones they don't even smell and they are all the same scents.
