showbiz is way cooler that chuck i cheese. I was so upset when they changed it lol.

upset just isn't the WORD when Showbiz "went bankrupt"...Billy Bob was much more friendly than Chuck E(although the gorilla in the Rockafire Explosion gave me nightmares!!)...sorry, I'd rather have a bear than a RAT!!!

I went to Showbiz on May 30, 1984

Showbiz was the best. I actually went to a chuck e. cheese recently and was horrified to find the entertainment was a video of chuck e. on a large movie screen. In my mind it's not real entertainment w/out an animatronic jug band.
jen - October 14, 2007 - Report this comment
Showbiz was the best. Did anyone else get kinda creeped out by the moving, singing characters in the restaurant? I remember being actually kind of scared of them.
Christine - November 15, 2007 - Report this comment
I remember always getting a balloon out of the balloon machine..
Carmen - November 17, 2007 - Report this comment
I was creeped out by the animatronics band too....I thought it was cool, but at the same time I had nightmares. I had several younger birthdays at one....I forgot that they had changed the name, it brought back some weird memories & the new Chuck E's are SCARY! They just aren't aimed the way they were when I was a kid....a quarter in a rid that moved up & down or back & forth, I was happy! lol NOW its ALL about computers & such.
Carrie - December 10, 2007 - Report this comment
I was really creeped out by the animatronic band...the eyes rolled around in their heads and you could hear the machinery moving louder than the music!
Olympianbabe - December 22, 2007 - Report this comment
When I was 2 I rode the Munves Trotter Pony and the "EMT" Mustang horse there. It was tragic when both horses were removed over 10 years ago. It was the best place to go in the whole wide world.

I was just going over picture of my son's 5th birthday party in 1983 at Showbiz Pizza. I recently visited Chuck E. Cheese and boy was I disappointed. I thought it was just that I had remembered it better than it was, but from reading the comments here, I think Chuck E. Cheese just doesn't compare to what Showbiz Pizza was. It used to be an almost weekly thing for us to visit Showbiz Pizza, our family loved it. Wish I could still take my grandchildren now.

Oh, man! I attribute my fear of both robots and gorillas solely to Showbiz pizza! That fateful day at my cousin's 4th birthday party was a life changing event! Scary.
Jacki - February 12, 2008 - Report this comment
I had my 7th birthday party there in 1986!! I loved Showbiz, but I have to agree the gorilla was a little creepy....
sorry, that was me - March 03, 2008 - Report this comment
my most vivid memory of showbiz pizza is eating too much pizza, ice cream, and soda, then hiding in the ball pit where i cried from an upset tummy, peed my pants, and threw up on the head of some kid i did not know.

Hey Olympianbabe! Do you mean the Showbiz Pizza that used to be in Hackensack NJ? I have videos of both those horse rides there on YouTube, go have a look at them. My account on YT is ilovehorseyrides .
Ann - April 30, 2008 - Report this comment
I have the best memories of Showbiz Pizza. I remember my dad used to take us there since his apartment was like RIGHT by one. I too was afraid of the gorilla, but guys I've been to a Chuck E. Cheese were they kept the band and there is now a giant purple THING there instead and it is two times as scary. I remember at b-day parties we would always lift up the curtain when the performer wasn't performing. It was cool to see them just sitting there in darkness. Check out the purple thing. You should google Chuck E. Cheese.

Rapid T Rabbit, my nickname is ilovehorseyrides. My friends and teachers called me that because they saw thepicture of me on the horse at Ed's Fun Arcade (My Govt/Law teacher, Mr. Keegan, called it Ed's Fun Arcade. I tried to get him to ride the horse but he kept on refusing so I could use your help. Come to Upper Darby High SChool in Drexel Hill, PA in room 256. That's my Govt/Law class. When we see each other, bring a camera so Mr. Keegan can take a picture of the two of us together! Can you come sometime before the end of this month?

Rapid T Rabbit, I have some questions for you: 1) Why are you so obsessed into horse rides and how did your obsession get started? 2) how long did it take for you to get to all these places? One year? 3) how did you get your mom to take you to all those horse rides? My mom only took me to Wildwood NJ 4) Where's Lucky 'S' Pnoy Rides in Wildwood NJ? I looked for it last summer when I was there but I didn't see it 5) Can you get me some driving directions to those horse rides on Mapquest or something? I live near 69th street in Upper Darby, PA 6) Can you bring your rocking horse and clip-clop horse to Room 256 during your visit to UDHS? I wanted to ride them both 7) What does the "T" stand for in your name? What's your real name, city, and address 8) Are the mechanical horse in Knotts Berry farm in CA still there? I saw coasters on KBF.com but no horses. I wanted to know this because I am planning to go to Knotts when I graduate from high school in 2010, and those videos look old. 9) At Morey's Piers 25th Ave in Wildwood NJ, which horses on the carousel are the rocking horses? Last summer, I saw the carousel but I couldn't tell which horses were the rocking horses because all the horses looked the same to me

Where can you find the EMT horse and Munves Trotter Pony now??? And seriously, why would you go crazy and track down every single mechanical horse in the country??? Why don't you just go to one place and stay there??? Welcome to Earth!!!

Hi olympianbabe! Sorry it took me so long to reply, I completely forgot about this page. Anyway...1)I just love riding both real and mechanical horses and enjoy rocking in the saddle on them. 2)I've been to all those places over the span of 20 years. 3)I took myself to those places, at least back when I could afford to travel alot. 4)Lucky S Pony Rides was just North of Moreys Pier in North Wildwood but they went out of business at the end of the 1999 season. 5)Which rides do you need driving directions for? 6)I can't bring my rocking horse to your school because he's way too big to take on a trip. 7)Rapid Transit Rabbit I live in New York City check my web page pawpet.org/rapidtrabbit email me from there 8)No, the mechanical horses are gone from Knotts Berry Farm for years. 9)The rocking horses on the carousel in Moreys Piers that rock are the ones WITHOUT the poles on top.

King of Prussia Mall now has a Furia horse? That's great! They are rare in the USA. There's one at the Danbury Fair Mall in CT. Do they have big horses that I can ride in the Philly Zoo? I hope to go to Philly this Summer when the carousel opens at the new Please Touch Museum in Fairmount Park. Also have you ever been to the Plymouth Meeting Hall outside of Philly? They may still have a carousel like the ones at Moreys in Wildwood

I really wish I could track down every good mechanical horse in the country and ride them all. Please get in touch with me thru my web page above...thanks!

I hate to say this, but I went to the King of Prussia Mall yesterday, and they took the horse out. I stood at the former location of it. It used to be near Sears lower Level at the Plaza. Also, yes there are big draft horses the Philly Zoo. I might go to Wildwood NJ and make videos next week. Also, I might ride the carousel at Clementon Park in New Jersey tomorrow. Also its ok for the horses not to be at Knotts but there is a Pony Express Roller Coaster there and I will ride that in 2 years. Also, thanks for helping me locate the rocking horses on the Wildwood carousel. I might ride it or something. Also, how did you get obsessed with horse rides in the first place? I got obsessed because when I was in the 7th grade, my friends went horseback riding without me and I got jealous.

When was the Knotts Berry Farm videos taken? Where did you get your rocking horse? Do they sell big ones around here? Also, check out the carousel at Steel Pier in Atlantic City. Why are you obsessed with horse rides? I need the addresses of all the places in NYC with a mechanical horse. Can you send me videos of your TV Show? Where can I get your merchandise? At the Philly Zoo the horses cost $5 a ride and they have ponies too but you can't be over 100 lbs to ride them. Also, did you go to Dorney Park? I rode 2 carousels there last summer. At KOP Mall there's a store with a galloping stimulator.

Hey Rapid T Rabbit let me share some memories of my horse rides back in the 90s. One of them was a Vietnamese restaurant with an arcade with a claw machine and a few games and a horse in it. The arcade is closed now but the restaurant is still open. Also, there's a department store and a grocery store that used to have a horse sitting in font of it. Nearly a decade ago, the horses weren't there anymore. Also, in 1997, Pizza Time Theater (now Chuck E Cheese's) had a Munves Trotter Pony that's replaced by an ice-cream machine. Also, I rode a Clip-Clop horse by Wonder while attending a birthday party and barbecue in 2001. All of those horses were in Philly. They all have been gone for years but I'll always have great memories of riding them

Why do you want the cameraman to stand so far from the horse? You should stand no more than 2-3ft from the horse. It gives it more clear details.

Hey! Does anyone here have the YT account "ChrisTheGreek2007"? I'm a Hercules and Hades fan too! I was down at Wildwood yesterday and I won a Hades doll on the boardwalk. Hades dolls are rare and they are very hard to find. I also have a rare Baby Pegasus doll that I got from Disney World in 2006. Also, I love your online episodes. They're hilarious! Also, at the boardwalk, I putted Hades on a mechanical horse and took his picture! Then, I got on, deposited 2 quarters, and rode the horse with Hades. It was a lotta fun.

Once, I had a dream that we ran through NYC buildings to catch a plane going to LA. Also, did you see Chinese temples and pagodas near Wacky Wyatts in Baldwinsville? Hey ChrisTheGreek2007! Put all Hercules episodes on YouTube including the movie. Zeus, Hera, Hermes, and Hades are my favorite gods. Put more scenes with them on YouTube. Put House of Mouse episodes online b/c they have Hades in them too. Wildwood and Disney World might have Hades and Pegasus so hurry up if you want one. Peg is $20 and Hades is 50 cents or $5 (depends how you get it. The guy sold Hades to me for $5 and the claw machine is 50 cents). Make a video of Hades riding the mechanical horse. I did that. Hades is too small for the saddle so put him on the horn

Olympianbabe...you can find my show on the net. Blaze horses pop up on Ebay all the time. I was in your area last Monday, theres a carousel like Wildwood at Plymouth Meeting Mall and a horse simulator at the Horsatack store in Norristown--I rode on both, you should too!

OK maybe next summer. Also how did you know the names of the horses you rode? I meant the mechanical ones.

Showbiz was around back when arcade games were actually cool. I remember playing favorites like Donkey Kong Jr., Popeye and Baby Pac-Man. Oh and the pizza was pretty good too.

Hey Rapid T Rabbit! I see 5 spring horses on then way to school. I wish I can ride them, but I can't get out of the house alone. Also, Ken Denton, I saw that coaster site of yours. Why are you obsessed with roller coasters? I'm obsessed because I like fast rides. I'll be riding the Pony Express at Knotts Berry Farm, the Matterhorn (both tracks) and Bug Thunder Mountain Railroad when I go to Disneyland in 2010.

Hey I was at Ocean City NJ yesterday. There is a pink carousel horse at the Surf Mall, and a statue of a carousel horse outside of Hobby Horse Ice Cream Parlor. I rode both, you should too! Also, I saw the carousel at Gilligan's Pier but I didn't ride it because I didn't have enough money to buy any tickets.

I found 2 home videos of my cousins riding horses. One of them was my older cousin (now 26) riding a pony in Vietnam, taken in January 1996. I don't know where in Vietnam that was, so I'll ask him one day. Also, I have a video of my uncle and my other cousin (now 13) riding the carousel in Tokyo Disneyland, taken in January 1998. At first I thought the conversation between Olympianbabe and Rapid was amusing. Then I started to think maybe Olympian was a little bit mentally handicapped. Then I thought she was a troll. And Rapid a 50-year-old perv taking the bait. But then I reverted back to my mentally handicapped assumption. It's been going on for over 3 years! 3 YEARS!! Do you not understand the concept of personal messages? This is a public forum, this thread in particular dedicated to SHOWBIZ PIZZA, not vintage carousels. Christ... get a clue. @Olympianbabe Okay I think I have a solution to our problem now. I set up a new blog that you can post Comments to without having to register an email address but it can be complicated so follow carefully: I can't type links here so you have to add the usual URL prefix yourself. Go to ilovehorseyride.livejournal.com NOTE no S at the end. I set it up to allow Anonymous comments but you can't start a message, only reply to one that's already thers, which I took care of by starting one already. Click "Leave a comment", which will open a dialogue box where you can type your message. Do not enter a username or password. After typing your message click Post Comment. The page will then say you did not enter a username but can Comment anonymously, and give you the chance to do with what you already typed. You'll see a drop-down icon box that defaults to post Anonymous. Click the drop-down and select Anonymous even though it already defaulted to that. Then click Post Comment again. Your message should then post and I will be emailed that you sent me one. I hope this works out for you, but you'll have to let me know here if you have problems. My apologies to everybody else here, as I've been trying to take this conversation private for a long time but that can be hard if OB is unable to get an email address due to personal issues. I only stumbled onto this page 3 years ago because I have been a longtime member of the Chuck E. Cheese fandom as well as a former castmember.

I remember Showbiz. We always said my dad was Fatz the gorilla I was the cheerleader mouse Mitzi and my mom was the duck (can't remember her name). I wasn't much into playing the games except One no not side ball. The game I loved was throwing balls into a trash can that had animatronic cats inside. I was too little to play side ball well. My most favorite thing to do there was the ball pit. I lost my first tooth in my cousins head because we jumped in at the same time. We got free cotton candy the rest of the day and free tokens. I recently took my little girl to Chuck E Cheese and found myself wishing it was Showbiz.
