Description
Kind of like Play-dough, you could use it to make things. It also bounced. You could copy the ink of the newspaper onto it.

I loved this stuff. It came in a weird peanut- shaped plastic egg. I used to stretch it out and copy pictures from the newspaper when my dad was reading it. It was also really good for trapping air and making a really loud popping noise when you squeezed it. I think they had glow in the dark putty eventually.

Mine came in a red egg. I used to always copy pics from my Elvira Mistress of the Dark comics. It could bounce too. My brother took it and I found it in my Barbie's hair. I had to cut all her hair off and couldn't use the putty anymore. I wanted to kick him.

I remember being very young and everytime I saw it in a department store I'd beg to have it (not being a spoiled brat I only had two eggs in my lifetime!) I *really* loved the rubbery smell of it, most of all.

I used to roll it into a ball, stick it on the head of a figurine at the side of my bed, and turn out the light to watch it glow. In the morning the ball had always melted, so the putty had run down over the figure. It could: Bounce, Print, Streeetch, Snap, Glow, Flow.

I loved it when I was little! I used to put it on paper to copy, pull it fast and stretch it out hundreds of times. Just bought it again today and it's just as I remember it. So fun!

Silly Putty was so much fun! My dad would usually give in and buy me an egg of it at the grocery store. He remembered having it as a kid, too. I used to transfer the ink from a newspaper onto it a lot, or pull it waaay apart like taffy.

I've still got mine! I'll add a photo when I can be bothered to dig it out :)

I used to roll this stuff up into a perfect ball and then bounce it. It picked up all kinds of dirt and hair. Then it wasn't fun anymore.

I love Silly Putty! I loved copying pictures from the funny papers in the Sunday newspaper. The color would come right off onto the Silly Putty! But my favorite part was the smell. I just love the smell of Silly Putty...

I loved playing with Silly Putty. Toys like this would always get dirty. I think that is why my parents stopped buying them.

Comic books were a big thing back when silly putty was the bomb. We use to press the putty to the pictures in the comics and look at the transfered image on the putty. It was like magic.
