Hey I remember the commercial for this toy! It went something like this:
Small stuff, space shuttle! Small stuff, space shuttle! It's a spaceship! (then an androgynous sounding voice would sing) And a whole lot more, it's even got a cargo bay when you open the door.
Like Dan, I remember this product only for its commercials. In fact, I was recently singing the the Small Stuff Space Shuttle song to my wife. I never had this product, nor do I know of anyone who had this product. But the commercial, boy was it memorable (in an awful sort of way). Thanks for the memories, 80's website.
This is one of the toys I had at my house for my grandchildren to play with and they LOVED it. They are now in their 20's and still remember it fondly. I still halve the box cover, they now hoave the toy.
I did not have one of these but there were two younger classmen in the elementary school that I attended...two brothers, who were children of a Delta pilot...When I saw the commercial for the product, I imagined that these two probably had a Small Stuff Space Shuttle.
I was actually the kid in the commercial. At the time, I did a little child acting. I think I was 6 years old. I got paid like $5,000 for it. I still have the shuttle to this day. I never got a copy of the commercial and I would really love to have it. If any of you can find it or no somebody that can, I'll pay for it.
My son got this as a gift. It was a great toy. Does anyone know who made it? I would love to be able to get my hands on one for my grandchildren.
It was made my Tomy toys.
