I got one for my daughter in "87", I awoke one night to my daughter crying on the floor(her crib was in my room) and Smarty Bear was laughing. In my head I know that she fell climbing out and kicked him, which set him off, but at the time I was completely freaked out and gave Smarty bear away.

I have one, his eyes are broke, and he does not talk or anything anymore, my cousin and I played surgery on him when we were little, I regret that now but I still have him, and I'll be 24 next month.

When I was a kid I got smarty bear for chistmas...about 20 minutes later, Smarty decided to sit on dad's chair and was forever broken. I was devestated and to this day will never forget that terrible christmas. I NEED to get a replacement....My daughter would love it!!

Hi i have a original smarty bear and i have had him for 25years i am searching for a replacement voice box/battery pack, as mine seems to have been removed/unplugged at some point with no luck in finding. my older bro(3yrs older) was given a smarty bear too but i claimed it when we were little as it would help me to sleep. we still have it sitting on a little chair in our lounge room, it too started talking with no batteries. it has happened a couple of times now.
