Description
you would place a piece of paper down and put the big plastic circle down on it then put the small circle piece in the middle and place a colored pen in it and make a circular motion and a picture would be made.

I had a portable one! It remember it was yellow, blue, & red...& it came with small red & blue pens that fit inside the compartment with the extra paper & spiral thingies. The compartment was red & it had 2 lids: the 1st one was blue, & it had a square-shaped area where you put the paper. Then you closed the 2nd lid on top of it to hold the paper down. It was yellow & had the hole with the ridges where you put the spiral tool thingy & the magic happened :)

They still make these but they're not as good as they used to be. I wish they would just re issue the old ones.

Ugh, I used to hate getting this as a gift when I was a kid. The worst present ever when all I wanted were dolls lol. But now, I have to admit, they were kinda cool.

I loved this as a kid. I also had something made by the same company called Spectrograph. Awesome fun for kids that liked quiet fun.

my older brother had this and I was so jealous.. it came with a red blue and a green click pen and I used to thing the little jagged edge of the circles hurt my fingers... they did make the coolest pictures though.. so professional looking.

I still have this toy and used it not too long ago with my son (a junior in high school) on an art project. When I told him it was mine when I was a kid.. he looked at me and said, "They had plastic back then?"! I coulda smacked 'im! :)

I had a Spirograph kit handed down from my mum. It had numerous different cog wheels with holes in and generated a wonderful variety of geometrical (but pointless) patterns.

Spirograph was one of my favorite things to play with when I was in "after school day care". I wish I had one now, 28 years later!

My older brother and I never got along better than when we were playing with our Spirographs at the kitchen table!

I still have my original Kenner Spirograph from the 1960s. It is one of the few things I have left from my childhood in Michigan, besides my 10-speed bike. Still play with it now and then.
