You really had to swat the surface hard for the hit to register. Often times you would just press your finger on the surface instead for it to pick up the hit.

aw! I remember my aunt giving me this for one of my birthdays. I remember you had to bash it like crazy......and it soon became a toy my mom begged me NOT to play near the adults :D lol
