Yes!! They do look like Sylvanian Families! I loved them! I went to the flea market one day a few yrs ago and they had a Sylvanian Family house with a baggie full of the critters. I bought them for my 5 yr old daughter and she loved em!!

I loved these things as a kid and I still have them in perfect condition. Some of the happiest time of my childhood, playing with my "Forresters" for hours. Wish I had the entire collection. They are similar to Sylvanian, but not identical-My aunt bought me Sylvanians from the UK in the late 80s.

My two dsughters had the complete Forest Families and house when they were small in SA and I brought them to America 21 years ago. My daughters are now 32 and 34 and I now have two grand daughters, the five year old plays with one set every time she visits us and loves it we also have some furniture chairs and beds and each set has around 28 animals they are adorable. Waiting for the little one to get a little older for her set butshe loves to play with the animals when she sees them. Wish they still sold them like the originals. This was a Manhattan Product from Metrotoy, Box 11068 Johannesburg SA. I wonder whether they still exist. Great fun.

Do you happen to have the purple dinosaurs, Valerie? They were sold in SA, so that's why I'm asking. :)

Very nice to meet people who love Forest Families like me. Unfortunately, I look for the pig family time, but not the date. Does anyone have or know of any place that sells? Thank you all for any information for a lover of these cute dolls. ;)
