My sister and I had this doll house, the furnitre and the dolls... haven't seen that house in YEARS! Incredible! This is hilarious - my husband's aunt looks exactly like one of the dolls, and I went on a mission trying to track a photo of the doll. Finally did at this link: http://www.oldtoys-on-line.com/littles.htm

my cousin handed hers down to me and I am now 29. I remember there were a lot of sets of people and they came with furniture on a bubble card. They had teeny tiny stick bodies and big heads

Lots of the furniture is for sale on Ebay as "Mattel" dollhouse miniatures from 1980 or more rarely from 1981 (like the piano and the dresser). Sellers often don't know that the pieces belong to The Littles dollhouse. Because the furniture is so durable, it seems to have been used in lots of vintage dollhouses.

I loved this house! It was the only toy I really remember in my childhood. And for years I had thought about and purchased most of them off ebay. Currently I'm going through financial difficulties and have to part with my collection via ebay.

I have so many spares now of small things like the cradle that I've opened a Littles shop on the British Ebay. Nothing big and heavy, just the teeny things that are usually so hard to buy alone.

That dollhouse was one of the toys that I always wanted as a child but never ever got! I was a lucky kid with lots of toys, but this is one that I remember wanting sooo badly and not getting. I did have some of the dolls and furniture, but I really wanted that house! My neighbours had it, and it was always the very first thing I went to play with at their house.

I absolutelly loved this set. I had a few pieces and always begged my parents for the house but never got it. I am now on a mission to acquire all of the pices - EVERYTHING! So if you still have pieces and are willing to part with them - please contact me! mgvogt@zumatel.net. I almost have everything; this is something I want to pass down to my daughter and future generations. You would make this little girl at heart feel like a 6-year-old all over again! Thank you for reading!

I loved these dolls when I was young. I am 37 and still have the carrying case house with some of the furniture and dolls. I have not managed to keep many of my toys from when I was young but I have these, my Donnie and Marie dolls and some barbies. Good memories.

These are not the same as the Little KIDDLES. They look similar in terms of their little bodies and big heads, but these were made 20 years after the KIDDLES were made. The cartoon and books were not the same either. As a previous poster said, the cartoom and books were based on half mice half human characters.

I've been using my Littles on my website for several years. I take photos of them and use them in stories. The main character I call Bob (the dad doll). If you do a search on my site (loneprairie.net) under "bob" you'll see the dolls in various settings and costumes. I pretty much have the full set, except the fireplace stuff, and some of the dishes. I loved those dolls; played with them non-stop as a kid.

My mom and dad purchased the house and I had the whole family. Mom, Dad, children, baby. I had so much furniture for that dollhouse, the only piece that was never able to be found was the covered porch that attached to the house. My father worked for Toys R Us and would search shipment for one of kind accessories. Wish I still had it.

I remember being a kid and wanting this doll house so badly. I would go to Meijer's grocery store with my mom and go to the toy aisle every time and hope she or my dad would buy it for me. I was raised a Jehovah's Witness as a kid and never got a single birthday gift or Christmas present and I was so hoping that they would take a moment and realize how hard that was, and get me something special. Nope! :-( It was not a financial issue either. My dad was an engineer for Chrysler. Still bums me out. Oh well...at least I can do better for my boys.

@Laura - I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and while there are good reasons we don't celebrate birthdays and christmas....we have fun all year round with get togethers and gifts. I doubt your parents didn't get you that gift just because you were one of JW's.

I'm based in Australia and The Littles made it to my home 30 odd years ago. I remember as a little girl asking my dad to drive me to distant toy stores to complete my collection (they weren't all that common here). Today, I still have the dollhouse and the "add-on" conservatory. What a trip down memory lane Down Under.

The Littles! I can't believe that I sold all of my furniture and dolls when I moved overseas. It was a really good quality set and lasted much longer than my other wooden & dollhouse furniture that my younger siblings would eat, chew on or destroy in some way. I can even remember recommending this as a child to a friend of mine who also had younger siblings, as it was harder for the little brats to break or ruin it!!! Tempted to start collecting it again, even the dolls house, but the prices on eBay are astronomical, even for used stuff!!! Oh well, I shall have to stick with Sylvanian Families instead...

I still have this! You kept it in very good condition. I love how you put a bed on the third floor, or attic, whatever that is called. I always switched it around, because there were so many kids and not enough rooms. Haha! Sometimes that third story was the bathroom too.

My dad saved it and i'm so glad as my daughter plays with it now, she is very young though so i'm constantly checking she is looking after it! i have the house and lots of furniture even two sets of some. i have a tiny cat, dog, plate, teapot,2 lamps, teddy, pram, dollhouse. i have the rocking house, swing seat, bed with bedding, all the dolls. The only thing i didn't know about was the lights in the fireplace. it's great and brings back lots of memories especially when my brother used to attack it with his soilders!!

These are the only toys I kept from my childhood. I have recently started to update my collection with finds from eBay. My parents told me that these were very expensive toys to purchase, even back in their heyday of the early eighties. This would explain why my parents only brought me a few of the pieces from this toy line.

I love vintage toys. I get so much enjoyment seeing my 5 grandchildren get more use and enjoyment from playing with my own childrens' Fisher Price Little People village and dollhouse than they do from their own new toys. It's still in pretty good shape and have just about all the pieces. Just ordered the minibus, mailbox and pieces of mail for them. Also, my children had the Littles dollhouse with the diecast furniture and I still have it and it's in excellent condition with all the furniture and working fireplace and lights. I haven't brought that out yet for them to see. Also still have "the Learning Machine" and the Fisher Price Talk to me books and player. I hope I see my great grandchildren playing with these toys some day.

I absolutely love a The Littles! I'm a grandma who still can't resist playing with my dollhouse from time to time. Good memories. My daughter sold the dollhouse I had given her for Christmas in 1980, and all the furniture 10 years ago. Awhile ago she asked if I remembered where it was as she thought her daughter would like it. So, the search was on and I now have located almost all the furnishings for three of The Littles dollhouses. I'm still searching for the very "illusive Becky" , the ones I've located so far are far too expensive to buy) and her rocking chair and the green garden swing. I'd love to have another piano and stool as well. So, the search goes on! If anyone has any ideas of where I can continue to look for these items, please feel free to email me. Kgreed@bellsouth.net
