These were great. I had the hamster set, with one sitting up and one with a steel ball bearing in his tummy so he could 'run' on the wheel. The new ones are creepy with huge heads.

My first LittlestPetShop toy was the green parott. He had a cute little aquamarine cage and a pink thing to stand on. I had so many of these little toys... after awhile I kept getting duplicates for b-day gifts. They were so cute!

I agree with Megan. I also had the original ones that were cool. I had the hampster one like Heather mentioned above and the Iguana one. I still have the hampster one and i have lost the other one. I agree the new ones are funnt looking. I find they are taking all the good classic toys and RUINING THEM! they keep making their eyes too big and just look silly all around.

I used to have the medical set with the dog and his bandaged paw with the kitty, and some other equipment that went along with it. I also had the Sea World one also. I think that a few of the new ones are cute, while some of them are wacky looking. The first ones were definitely cuter. Oh, and I also had the mom cat with her babies in a bed like basket.

I had so many of these - everything from parrots and turtles to kittens and horses! I loved the horses! A store was going out of buisiness when I was little, so these were on sale around Christmas, and I had like every one. It was awesome. Had a whole coffee table dedicated to displaying/playing with them.

Actually, I had the Care Center playset, Sea World playset, Twinkling Sledding Party, and Mommy and Baby Kitties set. I only now have the Sea World set, all the other ones are gone. I would have to say that honestly none of the new ones are cute. I can't stand their huge eyes and bobble heads. Whenever I go to garage sales, hopefully I'll find some of the older Littlest Pet Shop toys. I would definitely buy them!

These were my absolute favorite toys when I was little! I had mostly kittens and horses. The new ones make me so sad. They look like deformed aliens while the old ones actually resembled real animals. Glad to see i'm not alone on this.

I had a TON of Littlest Pet shops animals (my favorite was the monkey that laid in the leaf hammock. BUUUT, honestly, I think Littlest Pet Shop is from the 90's because I was older when I had them, 12ish I'd say.

I had (have?) the monkey that laid in the hammock, too! I loved it. I still have my school journal from the year I got it and one entry is entirely about that monkey. There was a set with rabbits that I always wanted, and I remember that my mom finally said we could get it and then the store didn't have it any more. I was so disappointed. Our friend's little girls really like Littlest Pet Shop and were so happy when I got out my old ones for them. It's their favorite thing to play with here. The 7-yr-old once stated "I like the vintage ones better". It made me feel kind of old (as old as you can at 19), but darn right the vintage ones are better.

I have TONS of the original Littlest Pet Shop toys! Even more than the picture up there with the most, lol. They're right here in a big box in my closet. I was a big animal lover so I cherished these toys like nobody's business! So they're still in near-perfect condition & almost all the sets are complete (paper "sawdust" & all...I didn't want any of my pets to lose their belongings, LOL) Oh, & I heartily agree that the new ones are funky looking. i think i had every one of these including the zoo and the vet and the pet shop. my fist on was a rabbit with a bed and some food. they were so cute the one's they make now are funny looking. my favorite one was my monkey!

i LOOOVED the old littlest pet shop! there were so many i wanted but never got, then they finally stop selling them. I did lose a few along the way, like this waterfall playset that came with a cat-mermaid, a deer and a fish, i lost the fish and the deer, a baby swan (there were 2 swans and a mom) i lost a rabbit from those snowdogs that lived in the igloo *i got the cat forest one and the snowdogs, and the cat one still lights up and i never changed the bateries!) and i also lost a white dog with fur in the group with the red cat, a purple skunk and a lion (i never got the lion) i also think i lost a green parrot...i still have a few left! one i almost got but it wasnt in the store when i went back to get it was a sheepdog, a cat, and ahouse with a bird in a fountain, i always wanted that... also, In My Pockets were cool too! I've still got all of my original pets. Even the Beethoven set they put out. Though my favorite was definitely the husky triplets. ^_^ The new ones have a different charm to them... though a lot of them look like they're stoned out of their poor little minds. They're no where near the quality of the originals though.

This is so crazy! I have an 8 year old daughter who LOVES Littlest Pet Shop... I never knew these even existed until now. I was born in the 80s and should know about these but I didn't! How awesome!

I'd hate to be the odd one out but, I love the new ones. The originals are so old and boring. Bobble-Heads are sooooo much better! I am about to get the polar bears for Christmas. Isn't it funny how they had the 80's ones, then the bobble-heads, and then the same kind of the second generation but with different shapes in their eyes? I hope they don't change these like they changed them the first time!

I had almost every one of them, including the pet shop to keep them in. I think the pet shop was hot pink and blue and it had a handle on it. I use to carry it around everywhere.

WOOO! I had the hampsters, who had little metal balls in the bottom to run on a wheel, they even had a mini water bottle. It was the coolest thing.

I wasn't alive in the 80's but the vintage Littlest pet shops look adorable! I have to say I LOVE the new ones. Most of the newer ones are cute- some of them are just a bit weird. But I love them- I have about 75 of the new ones.

I loved the old Littlest Pet Shops!! I agree that all these massive eyed toys are silly! i remember i used to have the zoo, a litle igloo with penguins and seal and polar bear, ponys, cats, dogs, etc but with old ones they actually did interesting things! i still have a rottweiler that has a magnetic brush and when you rub its tummy its tail wags and a lizard that changed colour with heat! Unfortunately we had a garage sale when i was at the age that i thought i was too old for toys and sold the others for a steal!! Grr, ill keep checkin ebay...

Yeah, we had a garage sale when I was 13 or something and I tried to sell mine, but nobody bought them... so glad they didn't! Now I can't wait to give them to my (far in the future, hopefully) daughter. If she doesn't like them, it's her loss.... it's HER LOSS!!!

Oh wow, I loved the Littlest Pet Shop so much. My sister and I had SO many of these toys, and I think we still have them packed away. She had the vet set with the uber-cool x-ray light thing, and I vaguely remember having the pet shop. I had a big garden tree-house setup thing, it had a little pond and came with animals that were scented to smell sweet & flowery. I remember getting very concerned about them losing their nice smell when playing with a friend who kept washing them in the pond with real water XD They definitely ruined it with the new version of pets, they are so frightning and ugly now =( The old ones were amazing.

I have at least 10 sets of these. I had the dog house with three dogs, the polar bear & penguins, the husky dogs, and the ducklings to name a few! They along with polly pockets were my favorites

I was the ultimate when it came to collecting those. I actually saved them at my mom's house for when I would have kids. Well, it was too long before I had a daughter of my own. It's insane they're the only toys she plays with. She lost the elephant one day and she would carry it with her everywhere. She still talks about it sometimes. I hate the new ones!! They help with imagination and self play, with the houses and food and such. The new ones are just one stupid big animal head and thats it.

I was at my parents house last night, and went and fetched these from the attic. They were my favorite. I have the big petshop, the hamsters, gerbils, turtles, a cat, a cat with 5 kittens who nurse, a dalmation, another type of dog, two bunnies, a set with a baby tiger and cockatoo, a toucan, lovebirds, the beetoven set...I think that may be it. I was getting them all out and putting them together like I was a kid again. Loved it!

I'm so sad that they changed them. they look so ugly now. I still have a couple of the originals from when I was a girl but am so sad that I don't have all of the ones I have. I remember for the longest time when I went to Toys R Us I'd look for then and they wouldn't be there. I was sad and now they came back with a make-over and they are so ugly. I hate the huge heads. They are creepy. I wish they would bring the old ones back. If Only I could find them again it would make me SO happy.

I remember buying the Beethoven set for my dog collection when I was a teenager in the early 90s. I never had any of the others. I do agree that the new ones are wierd looking, though I recently saw a bottle of LPS shampoo with a rubber puppy figure on top at Wal mart. I wanted that figure but had no spare cash.

I have so many of the old littlest pet shops and I still love them. I'm keeping them all as keepsakes. I did lose a few though and if anyone has them I would love to replace them. I lost the purple roof and the mailbox to a set with a black and white dog, a poodle, and a brown dog that came in a dog house. I also lost the cocketue that came with the baby zoo tiger set and three out of five kittens from the momma kitten set. I have 2 kittens left that sit up. Again, if anyone has any of these I would love to replace them, esp. the kittens. I'm also open to collecting new vintage pet shops as long as the price is reasonable. The new pets are just plain ugly.

Glad to see people are commenting again. I am so happy because I am buying a set of momma and kittens off ebay. I saw the dog house set, but can't see replacing a mailbox and roof by re-buying the whole set. I am bidding on a new one too. So you can find the older version on ebay. I say they should sell the vintage version for a while like they are doing with the my little ponies. I bet they would make a lot of money. I know I would buy some. :)

I still have all of mine from the late 80s/early 90s. Best set was the pink igloo with the light up pond that came with 3 Huskies and a bunny. I also had 2 Beethoven sets. I HATE the new ones. They ruined them worse than any other 80s toy reborn. I thought what they did to Care Bears was bad enough, but LPS is worse.

I miss the 90's Littlest Pet Shop. i had hundreds as a kid. i was born in 1988 the prime for lps collecting. i remember being so sad when they stopped selling the line. i quite despise the new ones. i really hope the "Bratz" Trend is coming to an end with their large oversized heads and tiny dis-proportionate bodies they do not look like real animals. bobbleheads are retarded in my oppinion. but hey thats just my personal view lol. I had some of the very first Littlest Pet Shop sets, including the big carrying case with the lovebirds. However, what I'm looking for are a different set of tiny plastic animals that I played with along with the littlest pet shop ones. They were more realistic looking, both cats and dogs in specific breeds.
