Was Liono the one with the red hair? If so, I had a crush one him too!! Wow, I am so relieved, I thought I was the only one who had a crush on a cartoon character! To this day, whenever I think of the Thundercats, one of the first things I think is "Geez, that one guy was hot!!" Kinda disturbing.

"Sword of Omens, give me sight beyond sight!" One of the BEST cartoons of the '80s! I also Lion-O summoning the rest of the team "Thunder!... Thunder!!... THUNDER!!!... THUNDERCATS, HO-O-O-O-O!!!" Panthro was cool (strong AND smart)! But my fav. was DEF. Cheetara! (acrobatic, lightning-fast, & SO HOT!)

I never had any of the toys but I watched the show all of the time. Thundercats and Silverhawks.

Eye of Thundera, give me sight beyond sight.

I used to love Thundercats (still hold a fondness for Tygra, the Thunderkittens, and Snarf); but after interacting with the Tcats fandom (and reading those atrocious 'revival' comics), my love fizzled to almost nothing. Sad, really.

Over at www.thundercatslair.org we're carrying the ongoing news story of the ThunderCats statues. The next one to be produced by Hard Hero under license from Warner Brothers will be Cheetara! Not only do I and my man love the show and the toys, we have two real swords based on the sword of omen. Found on amazon. And yes the Eye does light up.

As a kid, did anyone else wrap themselves tightly from head to toe in toilet paper and then try to re-create Mumm-Ra's transformation scene in the cartoons? Just curious

Sword of Omens was the best toy sword I ever wielded. The Thundercats Logo lit up, and the sound effects were awesome.
Dan - September 12, 2010 - Report this comment
Was the coolest show. Toys were really cool too. They were well made...remember the little battery ring you had to put in the back of the figure to get the eyes to light up...coolest
