The TMNT toys were great. My favorite were the Rockstedy and Bebop characters.
Celeste - May 30, 2007 - Report this comment
I don't even consider the TMNT now to be TMNT just because it's horrible.

Turtles rock!! My brother and I use to have these. I think I still have a clip on Raph. We use to collect the cards as well, and I have all the movies on dvd. The turtles aren't what they use to be. The new ones look mean.

Biggg part of my childhood i had them all. most of the villans too. i even had the sewer layer where they lived TMNT now are not TMNT i grew up with i get discusted when my lil cousin watches the new ones. The old song is better "Leonardo leads.. Donatello does machines ("Thats a fact jack")... Rafiel is cool but rude (Gimme a break")... Michaelangello is a party dude "Woo-Hoo!") even the movies were great TMNT 4eva
DaShon - August 06, 2007 - Report this comment
I loved the old song better as well! The new cartoon series sucks compared to the old one! My brother and my cousin had all the TMNT games, movies, cartoons, soundtracks, action figures, turtle vans, underwear, costumes, bedding, curtains, and outfits! They were TMNT addicts! Admittedly, so was I!
dubbayumm - August 26, 2007 - Report this comment
old school all the way. Remember when the first movie came out. I was so excited.

My mother made me a custom airbrushed TMNT sack for all my toys. It was like an oversized pillowcase with a rope to tie it off, i must have had like 30 pounds of them. I never did get the turtle van tho, so i used to go over to my friends house and stay all day cause i thought it was so cool. ah the so fun!
Kelly - August 30, 2007 - Report this comment
I made my mom take me to the movies to see this! LOL. And of course I had the toys. ;)

My brother, who was born in 1978, four years older than me, had all these. He also had a few of the cards also. I once bought him a stuffed Leonardo doll for one of his birthdays. I bought at FYE the old TMNT on DVD when they looked cuter. Now they just look creepy and scary. I never cared for the movies, but I just adored the cartoons that my brother and I used to watch growing up.

Loved em. Favorite was baxter stockman and casey jones. The ones they make now are very disappointing.
Smash - March 19, 2008 - Report this comment
Everybody's got a favorite ninja turtle and mine's always been Leonardo...appreciates the spiritual side of martial arts, level-headed, looks great in blue! Truth be told, though, it wouldn't be the same if one of the others was missing from the group. They're a great team. I love all four of them! The newest movie was so-so. I got involved in the rivalry between Leo and Raph. That was really all the movie had to offer. Poor storyline and villany..and not enough pizza!

I loved the freakin turtles. I had them all at one time, but as all kids do most of them met thier demise my way of fire in one form or another :)

Probably one of the top 10 lamest concepts to haunt television & the toy stores. It's all about G.I. JOE & MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE. Never owned the toys cause they're stupid, but I had 2 of the turtle cereal bowls. I also have the nintendo game still but it's not that great either.

i'm 27 years old now and i've loved them sence they came out, when i was a kid, owned a few of them, the old turtle van with all the trimmings, very cool, don't watch much of the new stuff, but i did love the newest movie, i'm trying to find the old tmnt toys again to give my brother them as a gift, we played turtles all the time, and to relive our childhood sometimes we still do. its also very cool to see the old 80's cartoons again and someone of the new ones, i'm going to make sure my kids enjoy them as well, if i have any, lol. I hope tmnt ever dies, its the coolest thing ever, the idea of mutants, i think its cool, always have, always will. thanks for a good childhood.

"Turtles in a half-shell, turtle power!" I had a few of these even though I was a girl...and I ended up always being April O'Neill if we played turtles outside on the playground or wherever. I can vaguely remember being chained to a swing set with the chains from the actual swing and having to call out for Casey Jones. Ahhh, memories.

I guess girls name Samantha love ninja turtles. I still have mine. During Christmas of 1989 my mom lost the angel for the top of the tree...so we used Leonardo instead

HELP! I've been looking all over the net for these specific action figures from the early '90s!! I've been trying to find the one where the turtles can take off their shells and they flip their heads to look very slim and sleek and ninja like. I haven't had any luck. I remember that Don had a bo staff that shot marbles! Did anyone ever have these (weren't they just the best) and where can I find them?

I adore the teenage mutant ninja turtles. I am 23 and I love them in the 80s to 90s they were great. When it started getting to the new tmnt I was sad by how much they changed them. Wahts with TMNT fast forward? I still collect the new ninja turtles I have all four 12" turtles from the new TMNT movie butI miss the way the turtles used to be.

I was obsessed with the Turtles when I was about 10. Saw the original movie when it came out. Michelangelo was always my favourite.

It is so nice to see other girls liked these. I had all figures including the weird ones like the gecko, duck, evil turtle and rabbit that were never on the show. April was my fav. even tho her leg broke off. Donatello's head came off and was almost impossible to get back on. The weapons were cheap and broke easily no matter how gingerly I played. Still, the memories are there and they were an awesome show, movie, video game and figure set. I was so disapointed when I checked out today's "TMNT".

I used to collect TMNT action figures and TMNT stuff since i was a kid because I was interested in the ninja turtles when i was 5 to 12 years old!! COWABUNGA, DUDE!
Ordale - August 25, 2010 - Report this comment
Did anyone ever play with the weapons? LOL I threw them away Christmas morning by mistake. I remember they came with a small toy-sized slice of pizza. I'll never forget how ungrateful I probably looked as a kid, "Santa brought me the wrong turtle. I have two michaellangelo's and no Raphael!" lol

TMNT is life! I loved every last character, even the funky ones that were a little strange (like mondo gecko and some insect ninja). I was absolutely obsessed with TMNT, until Pizza Hut started promoting a live action stage show, complete with a cassette and a basketball you could get from Pizza Hut with their label on it. After that, I was totally burnt out. They started creating some wacky tie in stories (like the whole Usagi Yojimbo and Panda Khan stories) and by then, I was pretty done with them. The re runs had been on air for numerous years by then.

My older brother used to love Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We had the box for the sewer playset, but I don't think we have the toy anymore.

I spent a fortune on these figures and vehicles. I believe it was hostess who came out with a snack cake filled with green creme-filling. I ate sooooo many of those.
CrustyMag - May 02, 2011 - Report this comment
Back when I was with the PD, I too remember a TMNT Hostess snack pie that had a green sugar icing shell outer coating and it was filled with a rich custard filling. I too ate those up like they were going outta style (which apparently they did).

I love the old series. It's one of the few 80s cartoons I still love and look back on fondly. That said, the newer cartoon is much more faithful to the original comics than the old cartoon. I'm not saying it's better. I'm just saying it's closer to the source material.

I was a TMNT freak! I had so many of their toys... they're album..anyone remember that? Lol... and I loved my comic books with the cassettes. Wish I still had my Donatello pillow :( Also wish I had my ninja turtle back pack for my son... I remember in kindergarden I used it for sc hool and the boy I liked always would ask" Why do you have a boy's backpack?" He liked girly girls. I chose my turtles.

Love these guys, esp Leo, my childhood fave and still is in his various versions. Can't believe they turned 30 last year. Given they were never intended/expected to be anything more then their first comic based off a joke between the creators, kinda makes you proud of them and to have been in that first generation of fans.

I did like the "TMNT" NES video game which had decent graphics and play control. The cartoon series began as syndicated in 1987, and about 60 half-hour episodes were produced. From 1990 to 1994, CBS, though wary of kidvid violence, ran select, edited episodes, in which the fight scenes were skewered and out of sync. The network also ordered production of 12 new episodes strictly for Saturday airing, in which conflicts were solved more with words instead of weapons. In most of the cartoons, hardly anyone really got hurt, other than a few bumps and bruises.
