There was another Voltron that made a giant robot by connecting a bunch of cars together. I think it made a brief apparance on TV before the lions version shown here took over. I remember enjoying very much setting it on fire.

Form feet and legs, for arms and body, and I'll form the head! Wahahahahahahaha! This was a well-made toy. I remember it being pretty heavy

there were a few versions. the pictured is probably one of the die-cast ones. the plastic one was bigger so you could put the figures inside go through the whole formation routine. as far as i know, there were only two bad guy "vehicles" they were both coffins that could fly.

I remember getting this as a gift from my Father's Steel Workers Union christmas party. all the boys my age got that toy. All 5 lions. that was a pretty darn expensive gift at the time!

Anyone notice that this toy looks very similar to the Power Rangers big robot when all their vehicle got together to fight a super monster? I'm just saying...

Don't you mean the Power Rangers look similar to Voltron? Loved the toys and the cartoon; my favorite was the blue lion but I hated the fact that the Princess replaced the original blue lion pilot.

I'll be taking a pic of mine tonight for you all to see. I still have my Voltron pillow cases.

Seriously. This thing weighed a ton fully assembled. It was pretty cool though. Definitely not cheap.

Being 35 my mind is a little hazy. First there was the shogun warriors. After that which came out first? The destructicons that formed devastator or voltron? Oh yeah, FORM BLAZING SWORD!!! Had to say it.

I had the entire set the lions and the cars. The car set cam to the us after the lions 2nd season. and gobots started to become big. The lions are the best the cars just way to much and too brittle.
