I remember these things!! They looked like an octopus, and generally came out of cereal boxes! What was the fascination with throwing something against the wall and watching it slowly roll down!? Reminds me also of the sticky hands. You'd get in trouble for slapping your siblings with it until finally it snapped trying for the millionth time to catch a piece of paper!

anybody else remember your parents yelling at you for staining the walls with these :)

I used to love playing with these things, until they would touch the carpet. Then they would need to be washed off and they didn't stick after that.

Yes, we always got yelled at for leaving marks all over the windows and walls!

We used to put them on the back end of our cat, and watch him run thriugh the house trying to get it off! Oh good times:)!

Yes! I remember these wacky wall walkers-I'd always get them out of the cereal boxes! Definitely stunk when they'd hit the carpet and get dirty!

These came in cereal boxes for a time. I can't remember which cereals. They were OK until they hardened up and the legs cracked off. I had a couple, but I thought I would get into trouble for using them the way it was described, so they just kind of sat there. LOL

Who DIDN'T have some of these as a kid?! I remember getting them in cereal boxes but also at Chucky Cheese's. I remember my ma got mad at me because I wasted all my tickets on several of these wall walkers. ^_^

Lol i used to throw these against my dads storm door on the front door and it would leave marks all over the glass :) The only down side, if it got on carpet, or near an animal, the fuzz or fur stuck and was impossible to remove!

You could always wash them with ivory soap to get them to stick again.

T - November 10, 2009 - Report this comment
I had one of these. I got mine out of a bubblegum machine. It never did walk down the wall very well, probably due to it not being a real Wacky Wall Walker brand toy. Then when it got all dirty and fuzzy and we washed it, it wasn't sticky anymore.

Yeah, u can get them on ebay, but costs lik $25 :(

I had one of these. It was always getting dirty. I had to wash it many times. My parents made me throw it away.

I had one like the red one in the pic. I got it out of a cereal box when I was 4. A few years later I got a dark green oval shaped one and I was miffed b/c the plastic came open and some of the cereal crumbs got on it. My mom found an old box of my toys in the attic and the octopus was in there. He was all dried up and cracked :(

I remember one thing about these-leave them somewhere long enough and they will be covered in hair, dust, crumbs, pet fur, ANYTHING.

My cat used to retrieve these things. I'd throw them and she'd bring them back over and over again. She looked so funny with the toy's legs wiggling while she held its head in her mouth.
Lori - November 19, 2010 - Report this comment
We used to throw it so it'd stick to the ceiling. Our cat would sit forever and wait for it to come down, clicking and going absolutely nuts. It was great!

ha! yup--they used to come in the cereal box. hey--remember when there used to be actual prizes in the cereal boxes?! but my brother and i would get in trouble b/c of the marks they made all over the walls. sigh.

I remember these fondly...I also got a few that Wendy's gave out as a kids meal toy back then too...the only ones I remember were the octopus, usually pale yellow or hot pink...they were long gone before I had siblings though, else they would have complimented my arsenal beautifully...

You knew it was time to throw out your walker when it was covered with your hair, your pet's hair, and anything else it picked up when it hit the floor!

I have not seen the one pictured for over ten years but you can buy the new version of them at Party City. They look like people. They also have sticky hands that come in different sizes and you can fling them on the wall and they stick. Go to your local party store or go online to find them.

They are now called Wacky Wally. They are very similar to Squishy Squids.
