Description
It was a game that was played by two people who held the handles of at the end of two ropes. The game consisted of sending a plastic red football type device along the length of the rope back and forth. By opening your arms, the ropes would push the football device quickly to the other person who would do the same to send it back.

I remember this and later they made a model that held a water balloon which would pop if one person sent it over to the other really fast. It kind of hurt because the ball would hit your knuckles!

OHMYGOSH!!! Thank you so much I have been describing this toy to everyone and anyone who will listen. I am praying now that I am able to find one because my siblings and I had the time of our lives playing with a ZOOMBALL! Thanks again.

I should have started my random search for this toy at the Z end of the alphabet instead of the A end LOL. I had NO idea what it was called so I just started scrolling through everything on the site... starting with the letter A. In any case YAY to have found this super fun toy :)

the newer versions of the game are called zoomball, the older, original game was called Whoosh, made by the Illfelder Toy Co. New York. copyright 1976.

If anyone has one of these they want to sell (Whoosh as pictured on this page, not "ZoomBall"), please let me know. I had one as a kid, but it was lost in a house fire. I would love to share this piece of my childhood with a new generation. donnie at gimmeyourhand dot com Please put the word "Whoosh" in the subject line so I know it isn't spam. Thanks, and God Bless!

when I was a little girl, I wanted Whoosh for Christmas soo bad! Snooping around, I "found" it in my parents room and I knew I would be getting it, but I never saw the package (by the shape of it) under the tree. I had noticed a package for "Grandpa" under the tree that was shaped just like the Whoosh box! Sooo....when everyone was sleeping....I carefully untaped the end of the box and Aahaa! There was my Whoosh! Mom had known our tricks and put other family members names on our gifts, but we figured that one out! I couldn't wait til Christmas to play with it. I think about whoosh every so often and what great fun we had with it. I wish they would make them again-I would love to get one for my own children.

The whoosh was like a soft frisbee. Kind of like a net in the inner circle, with a padded outer circle. Played like throwing a frisbee. I, too, would love to get one for the grandkids.

Just found one on ebay - whoosh frisbee was the search I entered. I remembered it wrong though... it's a circle out of nylon type material, empty center and wires I believe to form the inner and outer circle... like a doughnut.

It is actually a Seventies game and in Europe was called "Going". "Woosh" was its name in the U.S.
