Description
Soft hand puppets that were made to look like shar-pei dogs. They had their own bones, some had clothes and others didn't. They also had tags that were sewn into their necks and the "Wrinkles" mark that proves that they're real wrinkles. They came with clothes and a material bone-male or female.

I loved my wrinkes! One of my favorites! For some reason I associate him with my grandfather but I'm not sure why, I'm not sure if he gave it to me or not. My wrinkles was a darker brown boy, with tan corderoy overalls, a blue and gray (could have used to be white, not sure) striped shirt, and a purple bone with white polka dots.
kelley - October 31, 2007 - Report this comment
wrinkles had a battery pack and talked. The bone he came with had some sort of magnet so whenever you would put the bone in his mouth, he would sense it, and make a big "chomp" sound, and then talk to you. remember? i still have mine but the battery pack no longer works.

DESPERATELY SEEKING OVERALLS AND BONE! My son received his Wrinkles from my father (his Pepere) on his first birthday in 1990. He (my son) still sleeps with his Wrinkles (son is almost 19 yrs old). His philosophy is if a woman won't accept his Wrinkles, he won't accept her! LOL My dad passed away 3 years ago, and Wrinkless overalls are quite shredded... they are a dark reddish-brown or rust color. If anyone has info, please let me know! kyeparadise@hotmail.com

Ah Wrinkles. I remember first seeing this dog in an artice in a stuffed animal magazine I used to get. I was into dogs of all kinds as I still am. I remember wanting one pretty bad. At one point I came across one of the giant ones at ( I think ) Wal Mart. I poured my heart out begging my mom for that dog but was denied due to lack of funds. Eventually I got a knock off version, a brown dog whom I named Clifford. Clifford had a pair of green pajamas given to him by a friend of mine.I cut a hole in the back so I could still puppeteer him while he was wearing them. Eventually I traded Clifford for a Chubble. One of my greatest childhood mistakes. I still miss him. I did get a real Wrinkles later on. I was in my early teens. I got him because I wanted to practice puppetry with him. His name was Hound. I spent more time drawing Hound in class than I did doing actual schoolwork. Hound became a warrior, using his sword to slay monsters and other foul beings. I no longer have Hound, but I still draw him to this day. I do have three Wrinkles in my dog collection now. Two giant ones and one regular size.

I remember nagging for ages for a wrinkles, which I had at Christmas one year, my first when I was about 9, then following Christmases it was all I ever wanted. I remember one year travelling around Cardiff to Toys R us getting lost and being terribly upset coming home without one. I did not have one that Christmas until I was sent upstairs for something and there was mummy wrinkles, I already had baby, and I also have the daddy. got them out of the attic only yesterday for my one year old son to play with, I am 34 now. The thress are in perfect condition, mummy is dark brown with a blue dress and Daddy with brown cord dungarees and the baby girl is tan colour with burgundy clothing. The best presents ever, my parents are not here now but those memories will be with me forever

I had my wrinkles for my first Christmas, 2 months after I was born in December 1984, and I still have him today, aged 26! He wears blue denim dungarees and a little stripey t-shirt! He used to have a little blue/lilac bone in his pocket with red and green little stars on it! His name, not surprisingly, is Wrinkles! That's what I've always called him. He's been on many holidays to Cyprus, Malta, Israel and Canada and he still sits on my bed and likes to have cuddles watching films. He's always been a great comfort and still is! When I was little and wasn't feeling well, I didn't used to tell my mum what was wrong with me. But I would always tell Wrinkles when she used to make him talk to me! I can't believe it's taken me this long to stumble across the website and all the other members of the Wrinkles family!

I recently busted out my two Jumbo sized Wrinkles dogs because I wanted to get back into puppetry like I was when I was a kid. Unfortunately I have become rusty over the years. With my childhood Wrinkles I could puppeteer him for hours without my arm getting tired. Nowadays I get tired a lot faster. I guess I have to practice more and build myself up again. Wrinkles still rocks though!

I used to have one of these when I was really young and I have no idea what happened to it. A lot of my toys were lost over the years. For the past year or so I have been searching online for all the old toys I used to have and sm creating a collection for my future kids to have. I was recently at a flea market and found a trunkit with the original clothing. And I just bought a large tan colored dog off ebay for a great price. For those of you who are missing your list lovies, ebay has everything you are looking for and you never know what you will find at a flea market or garage sale.

Hi my name's Rob, I'm 32 years of age and I have a secret. "George Wrinkles" still keeps an eye on me sleeping at night protecting me from burglars, the bogeyman, other death creating events and my other half. I was bought him in the 80's by my parents as an alternative to a living breathing dog. Dark brown with a black nose, rust dungarees and a light coloured bone.I genuinely think I'll have him until the day I die which probably makes it the longest possession I'll ever have

My great-aunt got me a wrinkles dog back in 1986 when I was 8 and was having my tonsils removed. It was a smaller brown colored dog with a purple dress on and (I believe) a bow on top of one of her ears. Loved it. Cheered me up a lot when I was recovering from that surgery.

I remember my younger sister getting a light brown girl Wrinkles with a pale floral dress for her birthday in August of around 1985. I was extemely jealous and coveted this stuffy. I begged my mom for one of my own for what seemed like an eternity (my birthday is in November, which to a 5 year old might as well be 10 years). We would visit the Eaton's store downtown regularly to see all the toys, and there was a giant dark brown Wrinkles being operated by an employee. It was awesome! Finally in November, I received my own Wrinkles - a grey girl with blue eyes and a maroon nose, wearing a purple shirt and shorts. I loved this thing for years. I even chewed nostrils on her nose so she "could breathe". Sadly, I threw her out in 1995 when moving, which broke my heart, but as I was trying to pack her up a spider crawled out of her pocket and that was the end for me. I regret that more than I can express. I went through a Wrinkles ebay spree in 2001-2004, but got rid of them at some point due to space limitations. I was never able to get the one I had as a girl, though. My partner received an elephant WWrinkles when he was a teenager in the 1980's, so it was never played with. His mom found it last year and left it on my nightstand when we went to visit last summer. I took him home and he now lives on my dresser! He's in near perfect condition. Score! I loved my Wrinkles more than all my other toys combined. I miss her!

I just passed my larger Wrinkles puppet down to my nephew today, after receiving it from my Aunt over 23 years ago. He loves it, and it's his new best friend.

I had a Wrinkles dog! loved it..had him since I was a kid in the 80's I think I got him for Christmas one year and my mom kept him for me all these years, but couldn't find him for a while then finally did a few years ago when we were moving in the attic and now again years later he's lost officially! I had him in my closet a few years ago and I thought I had put him back there, but when I went and looked he wasn't there anymore. I think he's the one that was dark brown, black nose, red tongue, blue & orange I think stripped shirt & red bone, he didn't have a battery pack though you could just put the batteries in him. I've been looking all over since then for a similar one to the one I had before and one that works. If anyone has the one similar to the one I described in my post I'd love to buy it.

My Wrinkles was one of my favourites as a child. I now collect them, my 6 year old loves them. We have about 12! Would love more information on them but am struggling to find any.

I was raised as one of Jehovah's witnesses. When I was 11, while going door-to-door, was bitten in the face by a German Shepard. I had to get many stitches and still have scars. Some friends sent a "Wrinkles" stuffed dog in the mail as a get well present. As a child that didn't celebrate holidays and didn't get many gifts, this was so amazing! I'll just never forget how much that meant to me!
