Food of the Eighties, Products Beginning with N

I've been asked a couple of times for information about what food was specific to the 80s, so I've started a small list which I'm sure will grow pretty rapidly. Cereals of the 80s have their own page.

This list contains items that were around before and after the 80s, I'm looking for stuff that was still popular in the 80s. So this list will contain items that were around in the 70s, and maybe earlier if they were still popular.

Please note! Zima and clear colas were a 90s fad, not an 80s fad! I know it might seem like a long time ago, but that's only because they tasted so awful and were marketed so heavily. (Somehow, Zima still persists, though no one has determined why).

Nabisco Marshmallow Sandwich
Cookie made by Nabisco, that consisted of a marshmallow sandwiched between two soft vanilla wafers.
Nature Valley Granola Clusters
These were a bite-sized version of today's Nature Valley granola bars. hey came in peanut butter, oats and honey and cinnamon. They were little clusters in a colored-packet (same as the bars.)...does anybody remember these?
Necco Wafers
Thin wafer candies made of the same stuff as those little candy message hearts we all get on Valentine's Day. They came in rolls of assorted flavors or just chocolate.
Nehi Soda
Dumb name for a soda but cool flavors like Peach and Blue Cream.
Neon Oreos
Just like regular Oreos, only these had neon-colored filling instead of the normal white. Came in hot pink, blue, yellow, orange and green.
Nerds
Started in the 80s, these are still around today in the traditional two color packages. Very tart, they come in a small cardboard box with one flavor on one side, and another flavor on the other side.
Nestle Chocolate with Almonds
Basically the same as a Hershey bar with almonds except it was distributed by Nestles. It came in a blue wrapper with white writing. Stopped producing around the late 80's?
Nestle Go-Ahead
Delicious candy bar with a creamy center coated with chocolate/rice krispie covering. Slightly pricier than other candy bars although the size was about the same.
Nestle Mocha Cooler
This was a drink made by Nestle around 1989. It was a mix of chocolate milk and coffee, sort of like Autocrat only much sweeter.
Nestle Qwik
Chocolate milk powder in a metal can. Also came in Strawberry and Banana (only Chocolate is still readily available, although Strawberry turns up every once in a while).
New Coke
Coke tried something new but got shut down. Basically tasted like Pepsi.
New York Deli Potato Chips
Still available in some remote places, I think. Came in a purple bag. The theme song, which I still sing on occasion, was "New York Deli, my purple passion!"
New York Seltzer
Possibly one of the tastiest non-alcoholic beverages ever. It was seltzer water with a lot of flavor in it so that it sparkled and tasted great. At some point in the early 90's, it ust dissappeared. They came in small bottles with a cartoon picture of the New York cityline on it.
Newtons
The Fig Newton was originally created before the 80s, a variety of flavors, including strawberry and blueberry, came out sometime in the early-mid 80s.
Nintendo Cereal
Cereal that came in two bags, with characters such as Mario and Zelda. The cereal sucked, but the concept was cool.
Noid Candy
These small chewy balls were in a box like Nerds and were cherry and blue raspberry. They had a picture of the Noid character from Dominos pizza on the front.
Now and Laters
These were sold in schools for like 5 cents a piece.. came in all flavors.. Grape & apple most popular, but think chocolate was a favorite. Mid eightys fad.
Nutri-whey
Does anybody remember this chocolate drink? It came in a silver packet and was so delicious. It tasted better and nothing like any chocolate powdered drink mix on the market. All I remember is that it was sold by the bulk out of the NYC metro area in the mid 80's and flopped soon after.
Nutter Butter Cookies
Peanut-butter sandwich cookies shaped like peanuts.
