I remember the first time I found out about Pound Puppies. I was at my grandfather's house in Indiana, when a commercial for the toys came on TV. I got excited. I was crazy for stuffed dogs at that time. I really wanted a Pound Puppy! I finally got one a few months later. A grey Bulldog. I loved that dog. I even wrote a story about him for a contest in a stuffed animal magazine I used to get. You were supposed to write a story about an adventure you and your Pound Puppy had had. The prize was a bunch of Pound Puppy merchandise. My tale involved me and my Pound Puppy walking in the woods, where we encountered Bigfoot. Of course my Pound Puppy chased him off before he could attack. Unfortunately I didn't win. I had a bunch of Pound Puppy stuff as well. A lunchbox, colorforms, an electric toothbrush. And I never missed the cartoon. Pound Puppies are one of my favorite 80s toys.

I too had a Pound Puppy. Mine was brown and was a companion of mine for a long time. I also had a small one that was gray in color that my aunt bought me as a premium from a fast food restaurant. My nephew took claim to them when he was little, and unfortunately, my niece took the brown one to use as a chew toy for her Siberian Husky when he was a pup. I sure miss my Pound Puppy, and wish I'd have said "NO" when my nephew begged me to let him take it home.

Rather than buy the ready made Pound Puppies, I got a pattern and made one (even bought the Logo to sew on it) for my daughter. The other day while going through boxes, we found hers, unfortunately, the mice had gotten into the box and destroyed not only her Pound Puppy but also the girl mouse I had made for her and the boy mouse I had made for her brother. We both mourned the losses as we ended up tossing the entire box of stuffed memories into the trash.

I still have my big white and black Pound Puppy and 3 small white and black ones. My mom was a Pound Puppy collector back in the day! We may still have more lying in the attic somewhere.

I had cooler. In the cartoons he was the leader of the pack. I loved the cartoons they came out with it.

My daughters are grown now. I had a pattern way back then and i have a bunch of cut up ready to sew ones but somehow misplaced the instructions. Going to try to construct one without the pattern. Pattern is no longer available. Any body have a pattern for pound puppy look alikes?

There was a VHS filled with cartoons at the video store that I'd always make my mom rent. I had a large gray Pound Puppy and a lot of small ones. I even had some Pound Purries, but the dogs were my favorites.

I remember getting my first Pound Puppy for Christmas 1986. I was still into stuffed animals, but at the time I thought I was getting too old for toys...But, I just HAD to have a Pound Puppy. He was gray with dark brown spots. Then, for my birthday the following year, I got the smaller version that was white with dark brown spots. I now buy them whenever I can find them in the thrift stores, and have a little collection going (along with many other 80's plush toys). They don't make them like they used to!

I never had a pound puppy of my own, but when my best friend was moving out of the city her mom gave me one she was throwing away. I still have it, my kids occassionally play with it.

I wasn't a child of the 80's, but I did have one of those miniature plush Pound Puppies when I was a kid. I remember they used to have two baskets of them at Target in the gift card section and I would have to beg my dad to buy them for me. I had some of the playsets, too; the van and the wedding chapel, for sure. I remember I had a small brown one with floppy ears that I took with me wherever I went. I lost it a while ago, but now I'm hunting for a new one. :)

I had lots of these, they were a favorite. I remember a commercial where pound puppies with big ears would fly around the room. When I finally got one, I assumed it would fly as well. I also got several from Hardee's where you could buy them for a time. You could also get the Pound Purries there.

I had several. The joy of walking into a Grace Bros store on Sat morning and seeing them look at you. Picking one and you loved it so much. They had certificates and everything. Simpler is sometimes better.
