The 80's, yes, WAS one of the wildest, freakiest, musical eras that comes close to the 50's rock n roll era. SURE make fun of the HAIR, the OUTFITS, the way WE danced (it SURELY was the BEST cardivacular workout ever!!) to the GREATEST most FUN songs!! I am so glad I could enjoy it at my teenage time of (Duran, Dixie Midnight runners, Banannarama, Howard Jones etc...) SO happy at THAT time I wasn't one of the eras of "Baby boomers" otherwise it wouldn't have been the same to be able to adore all the looks of the PUNK bands and to try to resemble them!!! This is ONE person who isn't embarassed to say "I MISS IT!!" At least I can STILL have my with the NEW era who brings back the 80's in the Millenium way with the band "NO DOUBT"!!!! 80's LIVE FOREVER!!!!!!! Lets NOT forget those LONG hair bands POISON, WARRANT!! There will NEVER be another popular era like the 80's again. NO one can play any instuments NOW A DAYS!!!????

I was born in 1968 so I could enjoy the whole decade of the best music ever. In Italy there was a special phenomenon called "paninaro", (people who loves hamburger), and most of us where paninari. Pet shop boys , great, made a song for us. Fashion, dolce vita, sport, motorbikes, cars, watches, newspapers, music (Wild Boys Duran), everything was designed for us. I'm very glad that so many young people tells they loved 80's, also if they couldn't live their teenage then, this means that that values still live against the nonsense of last years. Thank you :-)

I was a Mid-80's baby and I don't remeber all of the years i was on earth in the eighties but I do remember a few movies, shows, and singers/rappers. I remeber New Jack City, Juice, Gremlins, Mr. Rogers, Run DMC, LL cool J and a couple of others....I was born in 1985 and the 80's was a great decade!

I was born in 1977 therefore i got to experienced the entire 80s decade and i got to say i miss it very much. Everything was great about the 80s from the music, cartoons, television shows, movies, clothes, and life style. Life was much more simpler and people were much friendlier. I remember waking up and riding my bike and came back home my mom would have lunch ready, and i be sitting in front of the television eating my lunch watching he man or she ra. They had the greatest cartoons. Transformers, Gi Joes, voltrons, thundercats, rainbow brite, carbears, strawberry shortcakes, jem and the holograms, the beverly hills teen, the get along gang, the smurfs, the snorks. man those were great cartoons. Then there were awesome shows like air wolf, the fall guy, the dukes of hazards, the dating game, 3s companies, knight rider, too close to comfort, etc... i forgot some shows. i remember street hawk was pretty cool, but that show didnt last too long. And of course how could anyone forget the music. OIngo boingo, the gogos, wham, tears for fears, the romantics, def leppard, u2, duran duran, debbie gibson, OMD, etc etc.. gosh, i sure miss those times. OH and Atari. I had a lot of games, cant remember them too well, pacman, berzerker, kaboom, moon patrol, missle command, battle zone, mash, adventure, porky, defender, empire strike back, and there were more. The 80s will be tainted in my heart forever. Andy

Even though I wasn't born till '89,I LOVE THE 80'S!!!The style,music,movies,t.v.and games make the 80's rock!I wish it would all come back.Especially the BIG hair.I don't get why so many people from my generation hate the big hair. 1986's Little Shop of Horrors is my favorite movie ever, plus I love to watch Smurfs,Transformers, carebears,Alvin and the chipmonks and He-man re-runs.The stuff in my generation is all so foul, violent, and corny. And may I ask what is up with our cloths??!!I hope some day the 80's will come back and be here to stay! Knarly Dude!!

Being born in 1985, I was sooooo young to remember anything. But I have to say that I LOVE the 80's. They were cool. The best song ever is TAKE ME HOME by Eddie Money.

I was born in the early 70's so I remember the 80's in my teens. . I remember when my friend dressed up as Michael Jackson and won the look like Mike comp. I remember wearing Choose Life T's and my fluorescent socks out to the movies. Trying to spin on my back in my mothers kitchen and scratching 10 of Dads albums trying to scratch like Jam master Jay.I remember a 16th bday party where punks, rude girls and boys& Bboys, homegirls danced to New edition & Technotronic... Nothing like the 80's.

My memories of the 80's were great or should I say awesome? The 80's had the coolest bands ever. The bands today are great also, but noone can compare to the 80's. It was a time I'll never forget. I'm 31 years old and it feels like yesterday. My mother used to tell me when I was little, one day your going to look back and wish you could go back. And I never understood what she was talking about until now. I know exactly what she meant now. Everything was great back in the 80's from the music to the fashions(leg warmers, jeans with holes in the knees, headbands and the list goes on and on. The big hair remember that girls? You had to have Rave hairspray of course to keep the style. That is my fondest memories of the 80's I have so many more but then I would be here all night if I listed them

The Big Hair Music (as its called today!). Stryper, Kix, Dokken, Cinderella, Poison, Motley Crue, Ratt, etc,. That kinda music was fun to listen to. Yeah, it was pretty much meaningless but who cares! Todays hard music is depressing and boring. I will never forgive Nirvana for killing Big Hair Music!

I started my current job in 1986 after a string manual labor jobs in between unemployment. My mother, in particular, was very pleased.

I guess the coolest thing about the 80's is that you didn't have to live thru them to see what a wonderful period in time they were. I was born in 1963 and graduated High School in 1981. The strongest memories I have of the 80's of course is the music. I remember when MTV first aired and the age of music viedeo's was born. I still watch MTV from time to time but really miss the feel and style the show had back then. Most of my 20's were in the decade of the 80's, so much of my clubing and party years were happening during one of the greatest time of music. I had so many great times out on the dance floors, and even at home watching some of the best TV shows ever. They say imitation is the greatest form of admiration. I don't remember a time when I saw so many trying to look like such a few. The crazes that Urban COwboy, Miami Vise, Madonna, Boy George, Billy Idol, and so many more bring to mind still seems so vivid. Some of my favorite movies are from the 80's and still come on all the time. I think the last period of time that was so memorable as far as music goes as much as the 80's were, was the 60's, and beyond that you have to go back to the Big Bands of the 40's to find such a defining time music wise. I think as the History books of time will show the 80's had something so unique and wonderful for everyone to remember and cherish.

Born 1972. The 1980's were the apex of civilization as we know it. It's been all downhill since 1991. It is the decade by which all others will be measured.
From: Craig

The Real Ghosbusters cartoon was one of my many favorites cartoons in the 80's! (next to Thundercats). I wish Cartoon Network would make a separate channel just for 80's cartoons. They would bring everything back & Saturday mornings would be fun again! Visionaries, Defenders of the Earth, He-Man, She-Ra, Smurfs, Muppet Babies, Transformers, GI JOE, Dennis the Menace, Ducktales....the list goes on and on! Who could forget them?! The 80's had the best toons...hands down!

I was born in 1985. I remember listening to Guns N Roses and Aerosmith. The 80's were the BEST decade. The music, movies, and fashion of the time were phenomenal. I think everyone, young or old, can relate to some aspect of the 80s. Whether it be the music, food, fashion, or movies of that era. The 80's had something for everyone. Even though I'm just 17, I only like 80's music because it is clean and makes me feel good. Music today is too violent and dirty.

I was an 80s child. I grew up listening to Duran Duran, Run Dmc,LL cool J,and all that cool music. I loved 16 candles, and all of Molly Ringwald movies and the list is so long. I had about 45 Cabbage Patch dolls,Strawberry shortcake and Blueberry muffin,Carebears,Rubixs cube. The fashions were so fresh I was a Bongo Jeans girl acid washed of course. I was a Run DMC FREAK so I had the adidas sneakers the Lee jeans that were in back then. THe two tone jeans ect. I loved the Cosby Show,Fame,Alf ect. I am happy to say I was an 80s child.

I was born in 1970 and spent the 80's as a teenager in So. California. The 80's were absolutely the best time to be a teen. I worked the whole summer of 85' at a one screen theatre that played the "The Karate Kid" every day I was there. I saved up enough cash to buy a Vespa scooter (which I still own), and had the best time riding on scooter rallies and going to all of the Mod and New Wave clubs. Anyone remember Grand Central Station (later Jetz) in Long Beach? Or the Dancing Stallions or Old World in O.C.? We also had a great time at Studio K and Cloud Nine at Knott's Berry Farm. KROQ (the ROQ of the 80's!) and KNAC (before it turned metal) were the best radio stations. The music can never be equaled. New Wave, New Romantic, Mod, 2-Tone Ska, even the pre-gangster rap were the best. I remember waiting in line all night for Depeche Mode and U2 tickets, and running for my life at the Run-DMC concert in Long Beach that turned into a riot. Lowered mini-trucks, Cal-Look VW's, GSX-R's and Ninja bikes were the rides to have. I remember wanting my own "Flux Capacitor" to travel into the future and now I can't figure out why I ever wanted to leave! The 80's were also a time of uncertainty. I was wholly convinced that the movie "Red Dawn" was an entirely possible scenario, and that the TV movie "The Day After" foretold the inevitable nuclear war with the USSR. Now we are friends and the world is a different place. Everything considered, the 80's were the best time to live as a teen and I certainly am glad that I was able to have the full 80's experience.
