Ahh, the '80s... Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Howard Jones, INXS, Tears for Fears, and, my all-time fave, The Smiths! '80s music was simply the best, and dear to my heart as it saw me through my adolescence. Did NOT love '80s fashion, even then (except for my "Frankie say RELAX" shirt).

Born in 1973. Michigan I don't know if it was actually the 80's that was so special, or simply my (and others) perception that was special because I (we) were young. Nonetheless, my memories tell me that time and those years were special...and of an innocent nature. I remember the Cold War, and technology just beginning to make it's breakthrough. My memories are of a time without computers...of outdoors and bigwheels and bmx bikes and playing in the local creakk and etc., where the world was the sun and bright green grasses and etc. Now, I see concrete and cars and competition and corruption. Is it perception, or simply that the 80's were special? Rob D.

80'S PERFECT PERFECT and one more time P E R F E C T

I was born in 1985, and I dearly wish they would make a time machine so I could go back in the 80's, you just got to love the energy that the 80s held within it, the lifestyle people lived then, the culture, the music. You just can't beat it. And the place I would have to goto would have to be, either Miami or L.A. I've heard those where the most happening places in the u.s. back then. I hope the 80s come back before I get to old to enjoy it.

I was born in 1991, sadly. I Love The 80's because it looked like so much fun, singin "Jack and Diane" (I love that song) walking down the street with a couple of friends (because back then it was okay to do that without getting kidnapped) on the way to the mall to buy parachute pants... I still do my hair like they did back then (sometimes), and I wear 80's sunglasses (when no one is around.. lol). Hey, if I never got a chance to do it back then(since I wasn't born yet), Might as well do it now. I get made fun of alot at school because I like oldies. But I don't care, the 80's rocked. I really wish I could have lived back then. Those were the good old days... email me if you agree.

Yeaa I was born in '89 so I juuust missed the 80s. I am so bummed. Everything from the clothes to the music I am simply in love with. I adore Pat Benatar, Guns N Roses, The Cars, Duran Duran, Billy Idol, Bon Jovi, and even Van Halen. I see that the 70s style had come back "in," and now I can't wait..maybe the fashion world will decide that 80s style is "cool" again. Though it doesn't matter because I'd wear it anyway, it would be neat to let everyone else in on the awesomeness of this decade. Anyways..just wanted to contribute to this way cool site.

I was born in 1990, I missed the whole 80's experiance!!I love the 80's soooo much!! Their style, the movies, the music, the accessories, the trends!! EVERYTHING!! I'm the only true 80's lover in my school. I wear whatever style I can find that reminds me of the 80's. I wear the cut shirt with the "Bon Jovi" hair, and the long earrings and more of course. When I go to dances all they play is the new stuff, I want the old stuff like Joan Jet, Duran Duran, Guns and Roses, Poison, Ratt, Quiet Riot, Tears for Fears I can go on and on!! I love VH1's I Love The 80's and I Love The 80's Strikes back. My favorite movies are The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, basically the Brat Pack. I love 'em! I want to go back in time and live the 80's!! i wish it was possible, I belong there...not here. I Love you 1980-89!!!!

I wasn't born in the 80s but my mom was. I have been listening to 80s music since as long as I can remember. And I love it it's awesome. I really wish I was born in the 80s. It was such a great time for music and for fashion. If I could change one thing in my life, it would be to be born in the 80s.

I was born in 1985, and I have recently realized that I love the 80s! When I was little I didn't follow the music or the trends that existed at the moment. I just got interested in japanese animation and I later became a japanese music fan. One day, while listening to a japanese singer songs, I thought: "I don't know why but all of her songs have something special... they are perfect!" And later I knew that she was a singer from the 80s and what I enjoyed was that 80s sound ^^ Now I've become a fan of anything from the 80s: music, movies, fashion... And although I'm happy to have found such a big interst, I sometimes feel so sad because I just don't like the present time. Let's all bring the 80s back, please !!

Why do I love The 80's? Two words........Hair Bands

The 80's... Not sure what hasn't been mentioned yet but some of my fondest memories would include Michael Jackson (pre-pedophile) The guy was a revolution of his own. I idolized him. Fraggle rock one of the most original tv shows ever concieved. Any and all of the cartoons. ALF!!! I used to love ALF. Mr. T., My Pet Monster...(anyone remember that?) Garbage Pale kids and yes Cabbage Patch too. The toys were the best too.. they were so simple and lasted 20 years !?!?!? The one thing that really comes to light when you look back on it... it's as if the 80's were the final chapter to an age of innocence. No the world was far from perfect then but thats not what I mean. I mean the idea of innocence. No one puts playing cards on their bike spokes anymore, kids can't walk up to the 7-11 for a pack of gum without getting abducted or their parents won't let them go for fear of it.... What we saw on the television and heard on our albums was not hate and fear. Sure we had bloodshed and crime and discrimination, drungs (coke was a big killer) and wierdo maniacs. But I felt safe as a kid... I felt carefree... I had fun without all the B.S. that is in the world today. Our country is like a corporation that did too good for its own good. The capitolistic state that we are in is force-feeding us fear, hate, and helplessness. We got turned into consumers and now are enemies to each other competing with each other for absolutely everything. There is no longer a comon good, and todays youth pay the price! I'll be honest I sure was in a rush to grow up myself but at least the wolrd wasn't in as much of a rush to do so as it is now. Thanks to the 80's I was able to grow up on a normal scale at a normal pace and I think thats what makes all the difference. Bring back the 80's ... bring them back.

Ah...the 80's!I was born in 1984 so I can't tell much from the 80's but the memories of the cartoons, toys and clothes are still present in my mind and even some years after the 80's finished we could still see the 80's everywhere from tv to fashion style, the essence was still there while the 90's were trying to set a place and a style of its own. Nothing compared to the 80's of course! As I had a much older brother it was inevitable that I would have much more access to 80's music and all related to that wonderfull times!Still today I live more in the 80's and miss so much the times I never had a chance to "live", as I was just a kid...The 80's are present in my life all the time from my clothes to the music I listen to or the great 80's movies I love to watch. Somebody invent the time-machine please!!!

I was born in 1979. I loved the 80's, I didn't have a care in the world back then. I remember my favorite outfit for school was my acid washed jeans (tight rolled, of course) my shirt that had florecent splatter paint on it and my florecent socks, my high top shoes, two or three swatch watches on my arm, not including the tons of friendship bracelets, big hoop earrings. We can't forget the hair, that took alot of time and energy, lots of hairspray! I remember the walls of my room being covered in posters from wall to wall of Kirk Cameron and Corey Haim. I still remember every Thursday night at 7:00 watching Growing Pains. Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Madonna, Cindi Lauper, New Kids on the Block, Vanilla Ice. The Smurfs, the popples, the get along gang, care bears, rainbow brite, strawberry shortcake! I remember when we got a nintendo! We were cool. I remember getting a satalite...wow! The best was when we got that video recorder! The 80's was just awesome!

Who cares what decade you'd rather have lived in... aside from music and fashion trends, everything was the same. I remember the 80's and could care less that I live in 2004 now even though someday some kid in 2025 is gonna wish he lived in this decade. THEY ARE ALL BASICALLY THE SAME.

Born in October of 1982, I remember the 80's like it was yesterday. My all- time favorite idol was Punky Bruister. What ever happened to her anyway? The 80's had the best cartoons ever: Heeman and Shera, Ninga Turtles, GI Joe, Care Bears, Cabbage Patch kids, Rainbow Brite, Pink Panter, The Smurfs ect. I also enjoyed watching Alf, the Cosbys, and Mr. Rodgers. My favorite singers were: New Kids on the Block, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Paula Abdul, Vanilla Ice, and Madonna. My wardrobe consisted of tight stirrups, lacy shirts, puffy colored socks that were pulled over my pants, and shirts that I tied a knot in. Everything was simple in the 80's. There was no internet or computers for fat kids to play on all day. Nintendo was the only video game around. Most kids were more active and less spoiled than they are today. Crazy kids were not blowing up their classmates in school like they are today. Drugs and sex were not as popular among 10 year olds as they are today. People didn't put up lights on their house for EVERY holiday (Only Chirstmas). All in all: the world would be a better place if we all stayed in the 80s.
